Help with arms

Hey guys. So I’ve been maining a warrior now for a few months coming from a 2 year ele shaman main, I’ve pretty much been mainly playing arms I’ve played fury a bit but not a whole lot. The reason for this post is that I really feel like I need help getting good at arms because it’s bothering me so much. When I’m In lfr or rbgs, dungeons etc I’m top 3 damage but when with my guild pushing high keys I’m always falling behind. I’ve watched countless guides and videos to try and improve but I’m getting nowhere with it. Does anyone have any tips on how to get better or macros to use etc or is arms just very gear reliant or what? If anyone has any tips to improve or any advice it would be much appreciated. I really want to stick to the spec as it’s the most fun I’ve had in the game in ages. Thanks

Hey, i do not know a whole lot about arms warrior, but i took a look at your armory and i can point out a few things that might help. Your haste seems really low for arms, and you don’t seem to have memory of lucid dreams, which arms uses as their major essence for pve with the test of might build. When you get higher haste and Memory of Lucid dreams you should see a sizeable increase in damage. Hope this helps gives you an idea of where to go, as i have said, i don’t play arms, just sharing what i have read and noticed. GL out there hope this helps.

Thanks for the response. I’ve heard memory of lucid dreams is very good so I’ll have to get that. Yeah it is a bit low at the moment all my high ilvl gear is fresh so maybe I’ll work on getting some more haste gear. Thanks again for the help!

Arms is very gear reliant, but it scales insanely with haste.

With 3 test of might traits, haste stacking, raden haste trink, and expedient stacking, you’ll see it go up drastically.

Basically all that haste let’s you fit more rage spending in your colossus smash window, which will give you very high strength for test of might that you will use with bladestorm. Once bladestorm is over you can keep dumping haste to get colossal smash back faster and rinse/repeat.

One of your trinkets is not a dps trinket. Your essences need serious work. You’ve taken two Test of Might traits but you have very little haste for that build.

You should take Purification Protocol for one if your minors. And you should take Breath of the Dying instead of Crucible of Flame always.

Cleave is not a good talent until higher keys when adds stay up longer. In mid to low keys adds drop too quick and Warbreaker would be better. Also since you are taking Lord of War on one trait Warbreaker would be better.

Depending on pacing you should Warbreaker>Bladestorm on add pack. Then Focusing Iris the next add pack. Then back to Warbreaker>Bladestorm. Try to use Sweeping Strikes as much as possible and if possible in execute.

With your low haste don’t take fervor of battle. You won’t build enough rage to worry about burning it. Take Massacre and try to time Sweeping Strikes right before 35% when 2 mobs are up and cleave that execute.

For keys you really don’t need more than 20% haste to get pretty good dps. I regularly pull well over 70k overall and my haste hovers around 20%. But thats if you don’t stack Test of Might. Stacking Test of Might really pushes you further into haste stacking to fully take advantage.

Thanks for the detailed responses guys!

Best advice, get more gear. 458 isn’t going to see high numbers.

looking over your gear it stands out instantly as the primary cause. the stat priority for either dps specs for warriors weapon dmg is 3x more than any stat. as others have said arms does not do much without gear. arms needs atleast 42% haste 50+ is ideal otherwise you have very awkward stalls in rage where you have no buttons to press.12% haste amp should be hitting the vendor on friday id grab as many as you can and hold onto them and farm +11s until you hit your haste levels you need and you should see a drastic turn around in output and how smooth the spec flows

Yeah awesome. I used to have like 25% haste til I geared up more and it definitely felt better with higher haste. thanks for the response
