Help with addon management

Hey guys
I’m doing a fresh install to avoid any problems with game files, addons and wa.

I have always used the curseforge for addons management, but I found out that many people actually recomends the wowup version for It, is there any big difference between these two?

Honestly, I have never used WoWup as the curse forge app has never presented any issues for me. Just configure it correctly and it will even close out all the Overwolf stuff as well. I think the only difference is some people don’t trust Overwolf due to some issues in their past. Both of them have an ad stream playing but for how little time you should have them open, it won’t really matter.

WoWUp can manage ElvUI updates. If you’re not using ElvUI or don’t mind doing the manual updates for it, there is very little difference because you have to run the Curseforge version of it, which means all of the things people might be paranoid / dislike about Curseforge are included in the relevant version of WoWUp (including ads / tracking).

You can get a lite ver of Curseforge that doesn’t have Overwolf…what I have been using since Wowup close down or went away…awhile back …

They got access to curse addons again, but since curseforge has the standalone client that doesnt require installing overwolf, plus the stuff mentioned in my other post, the only real reason to use WoWup now is for ElvUI updates.

I don’t use ElvUI…personally I wish we had our old UI back…

They got access to the repo but they had to install an ad stream for Curse. I had forgotten about the slimmed down version, as I tend to use some of the other apps on Overwolf (like wow combat logs).

Agreed. I have it open for about 30 seconds once or twice per week.
