Help! TRP not working, says "Only loadable on demand"

Hi everyone!

So, I woke up today to everyone’s worst nightmare - a wiped TRP profile. The worst, right?! It says in the addon window “Only loadable on demand” beside it and several other mods including DBM. What can I do to fix this? I’m not the most tech savvy, so I’m pretty lost with this kind of this.

Any and all advice is appreciated!

Huh. Are your addons all updated?

Sounds like they’re out of date for the current patch.

Loadable on demand means they get loaded when needed automatically by the game. You shouldn’t need to do anything. Once the game is up from maintenance I will take a poke around to see what more I can do for you but I would first do the following:

  1. Ensure that you have the most recent version of TRP3 installed. Sometimes the Twitch Modloader willnot pick up on an update so you will need to go to the Versions Tab of the mod to check.
  2. On the main login screen check the Addons button on the bottom left and make sure that you are loading everything up even out of date mods. (you can go back and turn off the Outdated ones to see if one of them is causing the issue) Launch the game to see if everything is in working order.

If everything is in working order it may just be a wipe. It happens sometimes though I cannot tell you why. My best advice is to back up your TRP. I’ve made a short guide you can follow for next time so at least you don’t have to re-write so much next time.

Yes, the addon is up to date - it was working last night just fine, in fact. I did try updating it again anyway, with no change.

I am also loading out of date addons, but as I said everything was already up to date. I actually just returned from a long break, and freshly updated all my addons accordingly.

I have back-ups for my most important mains (though not all of my myriad alts, sadly), I was just hoping that it hadn’t come to that. :frowning: This just happened today out of nowhere, it’s so bizarre! I’ve heard about the mythical TRP Wipe, but I’ve never had one happen in my years of RPing. I was hoping the Only Loads On Demand message indicated it was a bug and not a wipe, since I was almost certain I’d not seen it before.

It seems like 8.2 is just a really nasty patch for TRP in general. I’ve heard about more than a few profile wipes recently, and while I haven’t lost any of mine yet, it consistently seems to break my entire UI when I’m in combat.

I RPed with you before a time or two! Welcome back and sorry to hear about the wipe. :frowning: It has not happened to me yet in my years of playing. I save all my TRPs to Notepad every so often to keep them up-to-date, and also email them to myself in case anything ever happens to my PC. xD
