it was a horror movie i saw a loooong time ago when i was a teenager

i think joshua jackson was one of the main characters

all i can remeber is him going the entire film trying to hide something and having severe neck pains. later on in the film he seeks out a doctor to only find out his neck pains have been coming from his dead GF sitting on his shoulders. (Spoiler?)

Yep definitely shutter. It wasn’t his dead girlfriend, it was a rape victim. Him and his girlfriend are living in Japan iirc and he has constant neck and back pain. Eventually at the end of the movie it’s revealed that the ghost of his friends rape victim (he had only watched) had been sitting on his shoulders after killing the two friends.
