So I’m using a MSI GT70 Dominator Pro 2QD. Nvidia Geforce GTX 970M 3GB and 8GB of memory. Can never seem to get a consistent 60 FPS even if I run on the lowest settings possible. Should this laptop not run this game like a dream?
Is it using the gpu for the graphics or the integrated? That can make a difference. I’ve had to use the controller software for my gpu to specify which programs to use it.
Increased performance a good amount once I did that as by default it was using the integrated Intel graphics. Ew.
Something is wrong. I get 100 FPS with a quadro 1000M in my work laptop from 2011. A significantly slower card.
I would do as mentioned above and make sure the game isn’t running on integrates graphics. Also monitor temperatures and see if there is any overheating
This game runs great on a wide range of hardware, your PC should def get 60 at at least level 3 graphics I would think.
In-game press ESC, go to System, then click on Advanced.
There should be an option that says “Graphics Card”. Make sure the correct card is selected.
nothing is wrong, you probably have a cpu bottleneck, since laptops have decent cpus but at low frequencies, im running at 120+ frames with a ryzen 5 2600 at 3,8ghz
Make sure you are limiting fps in game and turn off gsync.
Also try using CPUCores it helps a ton (on Steam).

Can you explain what that is in layman’s terms? Also how I could solve this if at all possible?
You sure your laptop isn’t getting too warm?
Putting it on top of one of those cheap usb fan coolers can make a massive difference.
CPU and GPU works together, if your cpu is cappable of getting 140 frames per second and your gpu 70 frames, you will get only 70 frames per second.
if your GPU can get 200 fps and your cpu 40 fps, you will get 40 fps no matter what.
you can do nothing about it, your gpu probably can get 60fps high, 80 medium, 100+ low settings; but your cpu cant get higher than 60, therefore your should play at high settings since your cpu will not get more than 60 fps, you have to get the graphics that it syncs your cpu and gpu.
Make sure it’s plugged in. Your battery can’t produce the necessary wattage to run your GPU at anywhere near max output.
System > advanced> change the card to your GTX
Then change FPS to max 200
In chat type: control +R to see your FPS in game.
Max for game is 200.
What CPU do you have? Are you playing while its plugged in?
Try and update nvidia drivers, make sure you aren’t overheating. That laptop should play it fine. Also make sure max fps isnt set to 60 or lower and disable vertical sync.
People will argue with me but my work laptop, as stated above plays this fine at level 3, 60+ fps. usually closer to 100
i7 2720QM
8GB Ram
quadro 1000m (driver support dropped 2017)
The 970M is 9-12x faster than my 1000M. Something is wrong.
Just a sugestion…
Download Ntune
Run that as game settings…
Beware it is ment to overclock.
So when hit ctrl+r it says I’m sitting at around 100fps fluctuating, but when I’m moving around it just seems stuttery.
Make sure the laptop is in high performance mode under the power settings, and make sure you have GPU drivers up to date.
