Hello, I’ve been watching a lot of videos, browsing Wowhead and everything, which left me a bit puzzled. People keep saying that Gondria is easier to get compared to the other Saber Spirit Beast of her model. How so? Is it because of her spawn timer, her spawn locations, because she isn’t a one shot mob, orrrr? Like is it worth waiting hours for her over the other sabers, as in = less hour wait time?
Also, does NPCScan work with her and the other two? And what does her respawn timer look like? Because I watched a Draenei tame her regrettably, I waited six hours and went back to the location for a good hour and she never appeared in neither locations.
I honestly think that you’re going to have trouble with taming any of them that are on the longer re-spawn timers. This is because they are very desirable and lots of people are going after them.
Gondria should be on a 6-12 hour respawn timer if I remember correctly.
Someone please correct me if I’m wrong…
I thought with the introduction of vignette mobs that NPCScan no longer works on plain old rare spawns (without a mouse-over).
If you’re interested in getting an exotic on you’re hunter that matches lore or aesthic with the Night Elf you’re going to have to put in the time. You’re not the only one going after these pets.

I had better luck finding all the Hyjal spirit beasts than I did with Gondria. I still only have her on one hunter if that says anything. The Hyjal cats are only “harder” to get in that you need to complete quests to open up the phase they spawn in. If you are working on the Molten Front things so there quite a bit you’ll end up seeing multiple spawns of both cats and Ban. Not sure if NPCscan still alerts you to her presence but there are other addons that certainly will. I’d have to hop onto wow to see which one I am using. Her respawn timer is very long(6-12 hours as mentioned) and she is still hunted by many hunters(loads of competition). If you are looking for a spirit beast that doesn’t have a questline like Gara or Hati you may need to put in the time. Sometimes you get lucky but that is very rare at least it has been that way for me. Try leaving your hunter there and looking at off peak hours and right after reset. Good luck!

I’ve had really good luck tracking down spirit beasts in the last few weeks, using advice that was posted on these forums over the years:
- Download the Tomtom addon.
- Look in wowhead comments for each spirit beast to get the tomtom macro for each beast.
- Turn on war mode. There are many fewer players you’re competing with.
- Specific to Ban’thalos: practice climbing the tree, test your “drop distance” to make sure you don’t die from fall damage, find a toy like the fruit basket so you can aggro Ban’thalos without killing it.
- Specific to the Hyjal cats: take off your armor. Their armor amplified attack can still kill you sometimes.
Good luck!

HELP ON GONDRIA
I’ll help you my night elven sister.
When I want an old rare, I make trial characters on low pop rp servers, turn on warmode and check the spawns there. If I see it, I make a group, log out, log on main, request to join, log out, back on trial, accept…log out and back on main, accept and tame it. It’s a pain I know, but it’s never failed me yet.
Look at my stable, I have most of the rare pets that I think are cool with this method. Give her a shot. Also gondria was an easy to find tame, very easy to see.

Are RP servers still singular or have they been connected to others? I recall a tactic from some time ago that required you to party up with a character on a RP server. Not sure if this will still work but may be worth looking in to, as long as it’s still viable.
It was essentially a way to eliminate almost all of your competition on taming the spirit beasts.
If you just want a cat skinned Spirit Beast that is easy to find and tame, the Manasabers in Suramar at Moonguard Stronghold are plentiful and pretty much just an ordinary tame. I think they’re the easiest Spirit Beasts in the game to get. Well, except for Hati.
It’s still viable, I did it just a day or so ago.

There you go, look for the RP server solution as it’s been confirmed by Valdenroth.

It’s only because people aren’t looking for them as much.
If you want Loq, go to a spawn point while in warmode and shadowmeld. I just picked up a second one a few weeks ago so it’s not impossible. You can fly around and check the other spots every once in awhile, but you’re not likely to find Loq that way. If your going after Gondria, you will have better luck flying in circles since fewer people camp it.
I have so many Hunters, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve captured Loq. It’s easily doable with a little patience. If it takes more than 40 hours of camping I would be surprised.
sup. Is this still valid?
