So we just built my wife a brand new computer and everything works great! The only weird thing that happens is there are random NPCs that will echo when they talk or interact with them through the speakers. For example, the goblins in the AH in Orgrimmar and the first boss of Underrot.
Has this happened to anyone before? What is the solution?
If it helps here are the specs on the computer: AMD Ryzen 5 1600, ASUS Prime B450-M mATX motherboard, 8 GB Kingston Hyper-X Fury 2666 DDR4 RAM, GTX 1060 3GB GPU.
Do you have Sonic Studio installed? If so I’d look into removing that software in case the audio enhancements are causing the echo. What headset\speakers is she using? Do we know if it happens with different speakers?
Hello. Never even heard of sonic studio, so no that is not the problem. As far as the kind of speakers she’s using, not sure. They are pretty basic speakers. I can’t find the name of the brand or the model though. I highly doubt it is the speakers, because it didn’t happen with her old computer.
The software is going to be pretty common on computers using ASUS motherboards and is generally installed with the audio drivers. Similar to how MSI boards have Nahimic on them.
If you’re not seeing it, then the next thing I’d make sure of is that Spatial Sound is disabled on the audio device. To do this, right click the speaker icon in the taskbar and go to Sounds. From there go to Playback Devices, right click your default playback device, and go to Properties. Go to the Spatial Sound tab and make sure that’s set to OFF.
Past that I’d recommend putting in a ticket here with a msinfo and dxdiag attached and we can see if there’s any software that may be causing issues on the computer.
Yeah if its not listed then I wouldn’t worry about. Would put in the ticket with the system files and we can see if there’s anything else that may cause issues.
