I am using recount and I cannot think of why my overall damage done the last of the damage dealers (i’m elemental) but my DPS is top 5. we had about 10 DPS in our raid last night and I was consistently top 3 for DPS but much much lower on damage done overall. I cannot make sense of why that is.
Recount has wonky ways of calculating damage based upon player activity. Also it is terrible at being accurate or precise.
Swap to details, its closest to logs and its used by high end players for a reason.

It will be overwhelming when you first start it up unlike recount or skada are. Don’t worry and just go through the setup.

man…i just looked at my dps on my guild’s log…so depressing i thought i was doing better than i actually was while using recount haha…
when you die vs. staying alive the entire fight makes a huge difference as well because logs record fights the same way details runs- data is based on pull to wipe. recount and skada, if memory serves correctly, only takes data from your first attack until your death, which is why it’ll almost always show your dps as higher… it’s not based on the entire boss fight. this is why people always say, “dead dps = 0 dps.”
first step is to recognize you have a problem then next is to figure out what you are doing wrong. if you need help the class discords usually have a spot for people to review logs and help show people what they are doing wrong.
