BM hunter will always be the default for that. Ret pally is also up there lately.
Personally though, I always say warrior. Between fury and arms, one will always be doing good. Their survivability is good if you build it right too. When all else fails, go prot and just ignore pain through it.
But I am a totally unbiased party in that. Just look at my demon hunter, not my warrior main.
Druid (Balance) has some decent survivability, being able to heal themselves, and they’ve been strong for a few expansions now. Flight form, Aquatic Form, and Travel form are all great Quality of Life. Druid also allows for the full breadth and scope of roles in the game, so there’s plenty to try with them if you feel Balance isn’t your thing.
Mages are pretty strong, but each spec plays a little different. Our biggest downfall is rot damage, since we have no self heal. Teleports and Conjured Food are some nice quality of life additions. That said, you won’t be solo’ing world bosses.
Shadow Priests look like they’ll be eating good in TWW. I don’t play a priest very often myself so I can’t say how well.
I would take a loot at The War Within Hero Powers.
They may not be super impactful rotationally for many specs, but thematically they are.
For example myself and many other Hunters aren’t too happy that for Marksmanship we have to choose to either be a Dark Ranger or a Sentinel. One is heavily Forsaken and one is heavily Night Elf.
Just want to be an Archer? Or love the fantasy of Elf Archer or Troll Archer etc.?
Too bad.
I think Ret is overall happy.
For me I’m eyeing up Warlock or DK at this stage. Delves will be my entire focus in TWW, I think these offer engaging Solo experiences.
Does playing with your friend now matter? Because you can create a toon in MoP Remix on their server (which is 3-month long instanced version of Pandaria) and the toon will be transferred to the live server before TWW Pre-patch.
The mode is pretty active so you would have the benefit of playing with plenty of others who are also levelling in that mode.
Paladin is solid safe pick if you wanna boost for gold and tank heal dps which means less queue times which means more experience
Druid is Safe Pick too if you wanna boost run legacy content for gold and herb / mine as you can mine while dragonriding without needing to spend points to get the right spec for those professions
And Druid Can Tank - Double Dps spec - And healer So = More options and less queue times which means more experience
Monk too can Dps - tank - heal = same as those above but i recommand DRUID or Paladin (paladin got Aura for more movement speed - mount speed)
The rest of the classes = Might Give you fun but they’re not min maxing your gold income and experience
Hm. Good call on looking at the hero talent thing. And everyone brings up some good points.
I’m trying to get to 60s so I can finish leveling with his main(he took time off before I did, played an alt on my old server, etc) but it’s taking a while.
MoP remix didn’t interest me unfortunately. Nor him. It wasn’t his favorite expansion. He’s turned off on it and my time is limited, etc.
I’ll poke around at the hero stuff first. But I am kinda leaning towards the hunter. Just sooo indecisive.
Thanks a bunch. I’d never have thought to look at them.
