Help me decide on a class Warrior or Death Knight

So I am currently leveling both a DK and War in anticipation but only want to play one through DF. Which is looking more promising especially in mythic+? I do play both tank and dps so all specs are game.

Thanks for y’all’s help!

Any info you get on this now could very well be turned upside down with a single tuning pass, of which there are still plenty to come. Play what you enjoy. Both will be viable.

The best thing you can do is try them both out and pick what you enjoy most.

They could easily buff or nerf any spec and final tuning hasn’t been done.

The things that won’t change for the most part is utility and buffs.

DK’s are the king at getting targets in position with death grip and slappy hands. When this is important it is easily the strongest raid utility in the game. We also have amz, AMS cheese, DA cheese and the new melee swing debuff thingy.

Warriors have their raid buff, rallying cry, spell reflect, charge and leap. I could be missing something (I don’t have a max level warrior).

TLDR play what you enjoy most.
It’s a roll of the dice every tier what will be best unless you want to play a warlock .

Warrior will probably be the “better” class. It just tends to scale better throughout the expansion, usually has a more than viable PvE and PvP spec, and seems to be faster paced.

That said, I’m starting off with the DK. UH is very fun to me right now, and whatever weird block I had against DW frost seems to have lifted, lol, plus, blood when needed in OW, or for tanking with no tank gear in dungeons after the tank leaves is always nice.

For me, theme is a big part of it. Warrior is so basic, it just makes me not enjoy it. I swear, if you gave the animations so magic, or flash, I wouldn’t be so bored. Also, DKs theme is just so good.

Hmm mobility wise Warrior is definitely the winner.

As for playstyle frost at least on the DW side feels a lot like a fury warrior, always something to press. As for Arms, I am not sure if it plays like any DK spec. I enjoy arms but every time I have to press Slam I cry a little inside so there is that…

I think another thing is do you want a character that uses no magic, just a big 2hander or do you want a class that weaves in frost and UH magic rather than just pure melee.

I like the nature of UH with all of the ranged options. Diseases, coil, and clawing shadows, along with pets that tend to do better sticking to the target, and the ones with range. It really feels more like a necromancer spec. I thought i was going to main my ret for the start of DF, or even my enh shaman, but I’m definitely going UH this time.

Tank wise both prot and blood are in a great place. Prot has mlre overall damage abd utlity, while blood is super tabky when played right. If you plan to push super high keys, prot wins over blood.

Dps wise UH is an aoe burst machine. Frost does amazing cleave and good aoe.

Arms does great cleave and aoe. The bleed build is particularly fun. Fury feels better than ever imo and has great self heals.

Warrior has more utility over dk overall, but dk does have grip.

Do you like big chunky hits? Frost or arms. Non stop berserker? Fury. Death from a thousand cuts? UH.

Blizz really did capture the “necromancer” feel with UH. I would stay away from UH if you want to play a character that actually uses his/her weapon, it feels like Death coil for days when playing UH.

Auto attack, apocalypse, and festering strike are the only times i actually hit an enemy with my weapon in my ST build, and scourge strike is the only addition to my AoE build. I like it. If i want to feel more like im doing direct damage, i just swap over to frost.

There is only 1 answer to any question like this and it has already been said.

Play what you find fun. Its your time so if you enjoy something thats what you should play.
