Hey y’all. I’ve taken a long break from WoW and recently returned. I want to make one more alt before DF. I currently have a Mage, Priest, Warlock, and Paladin.
Im deciding between a DK (Frost or Blood) or Hunter (Marksman)
Im extremely casual. I dont do M+ or raid. I dabble in LFR rarely. Nor do i pvp. Whats better in the open world? Whats easier to level? What has the better class theme? What do YOU find fun about them? Which one would you make? What has the better transmog? I want your opinions.
BM Hunter for open world if you like super chill easy mode. Still fun, if you’re not looking for constant button mashing. Also give Survival a try. It’s a very fun and active playstyle. Good mix of melee and ranged. Has a pet. Its AOE has been nerfed so its not so ridiculous, but its single target has also been buffed.
DK Frost/Unholy for theme, but both playstyles are an acquired taste. Especially Unholy. Frost is more straight forward, UH is a little more complex.
Blood DK if you wanna tank, but only if you wanna tank. Otherwise run Hunter or Frost/UH.
Hard to say, Hunter is definitely a bit more flexible due to having a pet for world content, not saying DK is a slouch in that regard either though, it’s just hard to beat the pet tanking Hunter can pull off.
I would say you should think about if you’d rather be Melee or Ranged, and if you want to have tanking open to you too.
My personal choice between the two at the current moment would probably be DK, I’ve just haven’t had Hunter “click” right for me.
People who call it a meme spec are just salty that ranged SV isnt returning
Id say go hunter if you want casual content, the mobility bm and mm has for a ranged is really nice and you can practice to do melee if you want. Mogs are a bit ehhh on mail though
BM is also very good for solo content since you have a personal tank which now that they have no cap they basically cannot die. 2/3 hunter specs are also ranged and that’s much easier to play than melee.
But DK can tank, so you get easier access to group content.
Hunters are what you can call a reasonable class. You at the very least won’t have to deal with all the flaws within this game as a Hunter. Between pets, having both ranged and melee dps and mobility, it’s going to be the best one to play.
Not perfect, though. Blizzard is getting rid of Wild Spirits… Probably some Nelf hate thing. extreme angery
SV is in a good spot right now with leggos and tier (all of which you can get without ever doing any raids or m+). When DF comes around it may change, but that won’t be for another several months. If you’ve never played SV since it went melee (and are a fan of melee) I would definitely recommend it. If you end up not liking it you can still rock BM or MM instead.
