Help me create Sauron

For starters i am going for as much flavour and lore as possible.

I am going blood elf shadow priest simply because cloth has the best mog I’ve seen for him, wields shadow and gains access to 1h mace and off hand. There is a perfect mace I’ve seen and off hand as horde you can get a red flaming eye of Sauron lookalike item (alliance is blue so must be horde, siding with orcs against men, elves and dwarves fits anyway). Sauron was a shapeshifter so the plate aspect is irrelevant. The cloth suit looks good enough and this allows me to wield shadow and a 1h mace.

Secondly jewel crafting as first profession for obvious reasons however I’m stuck on a second. What do people think lore wise would be best suited to Sauron as a second profession? I’m legit stuck on this… Enchanting maybe? What does everyone think?

Any other tips help or advice would be welcome. I’ll be on frostmourne oce server for this :relaxed:

kinda like kultiran myself

Too bulky though I did consider it, the issue however is the offhand eye of Sauron item is a blue eye for alliance so gotta be horde for the red flaming eye

And that’s why you fail.

Yeah you should have went human DK (Tolkien said he looked like a man) and worn black-fire set from WoD.

An elven Priest is big fail since he lost the ability to look “fair” hundreds? thousands? Of years ago when LOTR took place.

I would’ve went with Kul’Tiran DK since Sauron has a habit of shapeshifting (Numenorian and all). Not to mention he was a skyscraper compared to Isildur.

Are you going book sauron or movie sauron?

(also you’re going to want to set up a macro to pop out one of the floating eye pets, the pet mirror, and the world enlarger)

Making Sauron an elf would probably cause him to implode. Melkor and Sauron both had a super-hate for any flavor of elf. Like even more than they hated most things.

KT death Knight. There’s a few 2H weapons that look a lot like what Jackson gave him in the LoTR Prologue. There’s a Shadow Lands tier set that looks very much like what Sauron rocks in the Fellowship prologue as well. I’m not sure which, I skipped Shadow Lands but I did buy the full transmog off the AH because I think it was used to make legendary items? Easy mog to get.

Unholy for the spec. Sauron was The Necromancer of dol’guldur. Yes, I know Tolkien didn’t mean the word in its modern context. But we’re doing 10 degrees of Kevin Bacon with the English language here.

damn was hoping you’d roll alliance so I could make it my life mission to hunt you down and vanquish you

I like how you are an Undead, because Gandalf had to die in order to ascend

If this thread has taught me anything it’s that many of you don’t know Sauron’s actual lore, he had no form, he was a shapeshifter and often used this power. He was known to be beautiful though (this blood elf) when he did take forms to deceive. He hated men so no human race.

Once again the mog required priest and I’m going for movie look, but more towards book lore.

That’s not entirely true.

In LOTR books he does not have a form but in Silmarillion it does mention his forms. He was a shapeshifter (snake, vampire, wolf), he appeared as “fair” (to trick the elves) and he appeared as the shape of a man.

After he tricked the elves he was no longer able to take the form of one and when he was seen after that, it was in the shape of a man. When he lost the ring, he looked like a man.

So if you want to go with his “fair” form then just look like a normal elf :woman_shrugging: If you want to go with his movie and most of his forms from Simarillion then go with a male human DK (KT or normal.)

Well, I don’t remember anything in the Silmarillion that said that Annatar looked like a man, the Fair Folk were Elves, so I think he would have been in Elf-form when he seduced the Elves of Eregion, and probably the same when he seduced the Numenoreans. 2nd Age Sauron I think is best for transmog, since you get more information about him in the books.

As for 2nd profession, Blacksmith makes the most sense, since he was a Maia of Aule, and though Aule was the Valar for all craft, he was most famous for working with metal.

But Gandalf was forbidden from confronting Sauron directly with might. He had to rally the free people of Middle Earth, not fight their battles for them.

You need to find him and incite a mob to vanquish him.

Sauron could no longer change his form after his body was destroyed with the fall of Numenor. Akallabêth was the man’s best work, but it cost him.

Or throw a ring in a volcano suspiciously accessible via Eagle.

Make sure you blindfold the eagle.

For sure, that’s what my guildies are for right

I’m pretty sure that Annatar (The Lord of Gifts) was a Vanyar. Which is why The Wise ™ were instantly suspicious of him. Since Vanyar leaving Aman is pretty much unheard of.

But Sauron’s ego was such that if he was going to be an elf, he was going to be the highest elf possible.

When he surrendered to Ar Pharazon and the forces of Numenor, I believe he took the form of a young lord. Presumably a human.

I will say JC has a sweet new toy it can make that creates a precious gem your character just looks at admiring, I can’t wait to hand them out as gifts to people randomly :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Blood Elves are too Lithe, if you’re going for Sauron, I would suggest the Zandalari Troll. They are properly Bulky and Tall, and you wont see the troll features with a Sauron transmog as face and body will be wholly covered by your gear (smart to opt for smallest tusks to ensure they don’t show).

You’re still Horde and fight alongside Orcs.
Not to mention you can be one of the few people that take the Bwonsamdi Loa, and get that additional Shadow Damage (extra flavor for just hanging around Zandalar and using the Bwonsamdi Shrine because then you summon ghosts to fight (your Nazgûl).

As for your profession it really doesn’t matter, I get that you want to follow the Sauron theme, but that isn’t really reflected openly in gameplay, you can just say you do those things and then choose professions that are more beneficial to your character.

Also to my knowledge Celebrimbor is the one who made the ring, not Sauron, so Jewelcrafting isn’t really relevant anyway.

Also I could be totally wrong on this but I heard it discussed before, Sauron was a metaphor for the industrial revolution right? The destruction of nature to be molded to one’s own needs? So like Mining/Engineering works if you care.

And that’s a toy right? So regardless of profession you can use it right? Or is it one of those lame you have to have X lvl of Jewelcrafting kind of requirements?
