you’re going 2 want to twink ur warr w ravager in 30s to take full adv of victory rush, so unless ur plan is 2 raid, shoot for pally. they do well with limited gear w the new toolkit and have interesting interactions w mechanics in bfd
I’ve alway’s loved paladin, so when last night me and my group were starting new characters to dung, I went warrior cuz I’ve never done it before. Our healer goes then for a paladin healer.
He proceeds to be top damage or #2 damage in each pull, and I’m either #2 or #3…
Play Paladin!
I actually have a question for you as well and we can exchange info since I leveled a pally to 25 and was looking to do either rogue, druid, or hunter next.
First, I’ll say pally HITS like a truck and can GET HIT by a truck and KEEP ON truckin. Their rotation with the runes CS, DS, and a swap between any of the leg runes depending on the situation, is very flashy and feels good to play. Gotta reiterate that their survivability is top tier. Horde will rage as it takes three of em to down you and even then it takes a minute.
Their weakness lies in their mana consumption now that they have some extra buttons to press, their mobility is mid although not terrible with blessing of of freedom and a gap closer with AS(though now druids can shift out of the daze)
They also are also on average the lowest melee DPS in the raid ATM, even now recently falling behind destro locks(just barely but still) being the only melee DPS behind a caster spec at the moment. BUT, you bring a lot of utility with your buffs and blessings, so you should still be able to find a spot if you can avoid the sweatlord gatekeeping meta somehow. (Try and find a chill guild, I’m personally still looking.)
Now for you, could you give me a brief rundown on what you thought about Druid, rogue, and hunter? Did you find em fun, monotonous, interesting, boring, powerful, weak? Don’t gotta go into too much detail; just your overall feelings after having played em to current level cap. I’d appreciate the insight, and have fun with paladin (or warrior)
Well idk about that. Warrior is definitely better DPS once geared and I don’t want to tank or heal, but I still prefer paladin because I personally find the aesthetic, class fantasy, and playstyle more fun/engaging. So even if OP doesn’t want to heal or tank, paladin can still be an option if it suits him more.
Druid: As a Druid I went Feral and it was very nice being so wanted by everyone. I never played a DPS where people were literally /whoing me and asking if I have Wild Strikes and then inviting me.
Being able to flex at any moment was also great and I saved the group a few times with extra spot healing and turning into a bear and taunting a few adds if extras got pulled. It was a very positive experience and I recommend it.
Rogue: I felt was a bit of a struggle at first because of how squishy I was and the lack of self-healing options. I went heavy into the first aid and that carried me when solo questing. I had originally wanted to try Rogue tanking but after seeing all the hoops I would have to jump through to be one I just settled on a dps build on WoWHead. It was ok, but I feel like it lacked the tools it needs to really shine, I know this will be solved at later levels but outside of stalking people and ganking them I feel like Rogue at 25 was pretty undercooked (big surprise…).
Hunter: The latest class I leveled and holy crap did I level fast. Once you get through the pain of 1-9 and get your pet the game becomes Easy Mode. You can solo almost everything, High level mobs? No problem. Elite quest? Who cares.
I work fulltime and it only took me 6 days of only playing a few hours a night to get her to level 25.
The main con of being a Hunter is well, everyone and their mother has one and you are pigeonholed into the DPS roll so it was hard to find groups for stuff. LUCKILY, I was literally able to solo Wailing Caves to get my pre-bis pants. Who needs friends when you have a Hunter Pet?
You make both feral and hunter sound so appealing and for opposite reasons. Feral for group play and hunter for solo play. Might just end up leveling both at the same time since trying to decide will probably take longer than the actual leveling at this point.
Thank you for your insight; it was very helpful, friend.
Oh yeah, great point actually, thank you. I’m not even memeing when I say I totally forgot enhance even exists
In my defense, I have only played Alliance so far in SoD.
Off topic side note - I wish I could play horde for those gigachad PvP racials and the general vibe of the community, but I wanted to play pally before anything else and now I feel I have too much invested on the Alliance side of things to justify starting from scratch on the other side.
I prefer horde vibe too but im playing both factions atm and having a horde and alliance main allows me more flexibility for future alts, be it alliance or horde since i can funnel gold (silver at this stage) to them.
