Help me as a new endgame player understand why raids are worth it?

I’ve played over the years, but was super casual just story for expac and some questing and world quests when I got bored with Destiny. I have no desire to play destiny anymore just ran its course, but I’ve been grinding out this expac super hard and love it. Did my first raid ever, but idk I didn’t really get anything from it I did get my vault reward which was nice though.

Which makes me wonder… whats the point? I’m a fury warrior is there a reason I should grind out the raid for a specific item that is good for that class? Or would I just be wasting my time? I don’t want to grind something that is RNG based if its not rewarding, but I’m so new I don’t know weather or not its worth the investment… Drop some knowledge if you got it. Thanks!

Some people like raiding…some people don’t. Just do the content that you enjoy.

The only real advantage to raiding is that tier can drop directly from bosses…but after the first few weeks of the season, that doesn’t even matter anymore.

But, to be fair, most of the time (not always) BiS trinkets and weapons will come from raids…although there are exceptions

Raid almost always has at least 1 BiS Trinket. Sometimes 1 other random item (because of some special effect).

That aside, if you’re not pushing Mythic, Raiding is just an extra loot source, not a better one. To me, it’s not worth doing serious raid prog just to get 1 Trinket or whatever. The dungeon ones will suffice just fine.

I would like to feel like Raiding is worth the time, but I don’t right now and haven’t since sometime before BfA.

if you like raiding, it’s worth it, if not it’s not. I’d say the same thing about pretty much anything end game or the game as a whole.

Folks who like raiding enjoy the team spirit of going after the kill together. You see your friends doing annoying tasks so we can get the kill. It’s the spirit of comradery. Raids are team sports for nerds.

As someone with 2700 hours on recent D2 and having played wow for 16 years, pve and pvp are separate gearing systems in wow so just play whichever one you find the most enjoyment out of. Personally I like to enjoy the dungeons and raids (now delves too!) at least once, then I go straight to exploring the new open areas/ quests and open world/pvp queuing. I also recommend exploring the open world you’ve never seen and solo running the old dungeons and raids for transmog pieces for hours of fun.

Raiding is worth it in a raid guild where loot gets distributed eventually to everyone unlike pugs where you can clear out the raid and not get anything over and over
