Help Making Gold

Hello,

For those of you that are savvy at gold-making in the game, do you have any advice? I’ve decided to stop buying WoW tokens and do it the old fashioned and right way, but honestly… I’m kinda bad at it. I’ve been selling flasks but that doesn’t earn too much.

Anyone have some suggestions? Preferably solo.

UPDATE: I just wanted to thank all of you in this thread that helped me out. I have managed to make 135k gold in 3 days off of all of your suggestions - especially with TSM. You guys rock!

Mailbox dancing, while it’s still an option…

Only option I know of besides raw gold farming and farming for rares to sell is to have a TON of alts cycling through mission board quests for gold

Hello, I am happy to help out another gnome hunter

The hands-down best, most efficient way to make gold in this game is through the auction house. I recommend you download the TradeSkillMaster addon as well as the TSMHelper app on your computer, link this app to your realm. Immediately set up your groups, try to make or find groups for all the markets you want to control. Pet battles are a good market to start with since the deposit is 1 silver and you can sell on any server. You can also make bank alts on all popular servers for the purpose of reselling cheap battle pets on servers where they go for more. The market is a little saturated with people doing this, so the market price for battle pets is becoming slightly homogenized.

You can make custom scripts and price points (dependent on the item) but this is something you can do after you are more familiar with TSM in general. I recommend a bank alt in the Pandaren city with engineering for access to a bank, auction house, mailbox, guild bank, and vendor without having to move more than five feet at any time (on each realm you want to control - please don’t pick velen cluster).

Groups:
https://gunnydelight.github.io/mozzletoff-wow-goldfarm-site/introduction-to-mozzles-tsm.html

https://www.tradeskillmaster.com/group-maker/ld4dzg70

I recommend increasing the minimum price point for all BoEs with a region sale rate higher than 0.01.

You will get bot competitors, my advice is to find their minimum undercut/maximum buyout price for individual and group items, and post one at a time at these maximum buyout prices when you want to clear inventory.

Good luck and happy gnoming!

Hey the gold will come specially as a hunter you can track anything it’s minimal effort
Find good places to grind and see what is in demand and certain days guilds are stocking up on raid supplies
Hunters are gold magnets :magnet: you can do it

2 x runs of Deepholm normal dungeon (cata) gets enough for a transmog change.

AH is still the best way to make game other than doing carries.

Flasks and alchemy are rarely profitable at this stage unless you are able to keep your costs down and depending on server, can babysit your auctions.

Get TSM.
Go on YouTube and find Samadanplayswow
He has a tsm guide… learn TSM but take it one step at a time.
Look for other beginner guides on tsm… Penguinr2gt is another good one, she does gold making vids, has a tsm beginner guide too there I think.

Check out your server prices, kinda see what is good etc…

Figure out what professions can be profitable and level it… craft the things profitable. Check out the undermine journal site, find your server, go to deals and kinda look at small things you can flip and when you get comfortable, take on bigger flips.

Do different farms for pets, mogs, mats etc…

Ultimately I can keep going and going but you

HAVE TO FIND SOMETHING YOU LIKE
and stick to it… expand on it… and take each step as a learning moment… recognize that there is a lot to learn potentially and you won’t be perfect at it from the get go making millions day one.

Resources;
woweconomy reddit, their discord.
Youtube with guides from samadanplayswow, Penguinr2gt, manthieus and potentially a whole host of gold making guide makers etc…

Good luck!

Thank you! I was just coming here to ask this question. I have absolutely no idea how to set this up. Haha.

It is simple, but has a high ceiling for what you can potentially do.
Honestly, for a visual reference, Samadanplayswow has a nice guide but it might be a version behind [don’t remember]. There are a few nice starting off points with that. But definitely ask - even if you think a question may sound stupid to you.

Some people can get overwhelmed but there are enough people that will help

Not sure on the AH. I think it is more profitable spamming random dungeons at 92 gold a piece. With a AH you have to babysit.

Its difficult making money off the AH now days. Someone undercuts you your stuff gets returned to you in 2 days.

Other very helpful goblins are wtbgold, dala gg, studen albatroz. They all have different specializations. Watch their youtube videos or twitch streams and you will learn basically everything about goldmaking.

The other thing you need to do is the mission table. Raise the followers’ levels and do the gold and materials missions to sell on the AH. When you get very high followers you can make a lot of gold every week just from the mission table.

Be aware that goldmaking is basically a full time job. It takes a ton of time so you probably won’t be able to be a mythic raider and a goblin at the same time.

It’s do able but a very demanding task. But I agree. I think once you get into a groove of sorts, and aren’t having to be on a tough server to babysit a lot, you can do ok for yourself and have plenty of time to do other stuff end-game wise.

well, i have about 25mil gold of sold auctions…simply put, study the AH a little bit. see what people want.

When you find it, don’t go crazy, start small, ensure it’s an actual market, not just a weird behavior due to scarcity.

some Runecrafting items sell great compared to cost of their mats.
some fish sell great.
some ore, herbs etc sell great. especially the maw items - players don’t like going in the Maw.
items like Albino Cavefish sell very well but in low volumes, because they only have one specific and niche purpose, so fishing more than 50-100 in a week is wasteful. small market cap.
an addon called “LookingForSachels” will tell you when to queue in LFG for bonus bags…
Porous stones vendor for 1-3s and they make Porous Sharpened Stones which can vendor for 1-3g. but the market might be flooded, they are a low-quality item so selling in bulk is a problem.
battling pets in the world quests for the charms and buying pets to sell makes a few thousand, less than last expansion but still lucrative…

there’s just so many ways. if you want gold, you can make gold fast once you find your niche. I prefer value-added-crafting where i buy mats and craft finished goods. i’m not doing that currently, i’m just mainly doing mission tables now.

I haven’t tried this myself, but a friend of mine makes gold by running old dungeons and raids and selling everything he gets on the auction house (everything that isn’t soulbound of course).

You have to do it a lot though. I think he runs EVERY dungeon and raid from Vanilla to WoD once per week. And he sells EVERYTHING. He doesn’t keep any awesome drops for himself. Including mounts and transmog. He’s dedicated to gold and gold alone. Don’t recall how much he’d amassed last time I chatted with him, but it’s in the upper millions and he’s been doing it for a few years at least.

Get four toons to max and into covenants. Do your callings on all four each day.

Otherwise Goblin Gliders. Make em in your Garrison and sell.

Works best with many characters having garrisons and able to trade materials in for sumptuous fur at the trader. Send it all to your engineer and get crafting.

If you prefer actually playing the game to sitting at the AH, the shadowlands table missions offer very lucrative rewards, and if you are a night fae, all your troops are grossly overpowered.

It’s great passive income, and you can either use the runes and fish to offset costs, or sell them for extra cash. I recommend leveling cooking as it is easy and feasts are reliable income.

I watched Penguinr2gt’s vid on it and it was immensely helpful. I set it all up and posted my first round of stuff. Thank you guys so much for this info! It has completely changed how I do things on this game.

THANK YOU!!

Definitely going to look into this.

I AM NF! I didn’t realize there was any point to actually doing the mission table. I should start! Any advice?

Your troop level is the average of all your buddies level divided by 2. What this means is you ONLY need to level up the top half of your buddies and your troops will be at max level. Then use the high level troops to carry the lower half of your buddies.

Its not the best by any standard but they sell fast and don’t really slow down on the demand and if you’re upkeeping your garrisons and sending those mats its low cost to you.
