Help! I made an Elf Priest! Now I´m sad

Yes. I didn´t read enough guides.

Now I´ve probably ruined my dps, healing and utility for Guild raids for the rest of Classic. Aside from creating a completely new character, what can I do to remedy this horrible decision?

Are there any special specs or details about Elf Priest that I´m not aware of? Or did I make an irremedial mistake?

It’s not a huge deal. Just play disc, you will still get PI, shield, and good solid healing. No you wont have fear ward, but it’s not a massive deal. You are still valuable, just not S tier.

Fear ward isn’t even that relevant anymore.

You haven’t “ruined” anything.

Dwarves are better but you can still get raids as a NE healer because raids need bodies.

Only need 2 dwarves to keep ward up on the MT for ony/nef anyway, and those fights aren’t hard even without it.

But your retarded star shards plan from a different thread will be a problem. If you’re not planning to heal roll a different class. lol

Horde doesn’t have dwarf priests so I’m sure other races are just fine.

That being said yes, you screwed the pooch

Most raids I’ve seen don’t give a crap about your race, especially for healers. They just need another healer so they can kill bosses and get loot. The only people who care about that kind of junk are the tryhards who think they’re the next Method or Limit or APES.

You get one of the coolest moves, Star Shards, or whatever it’s called. If I rolled an alliance priest, it’d be nelf for sure

I feel personally attacked by this thread.

NE is missing fear ward and desperate prayer (instant self heal), which is pretty big in classic. But on the plus side you can hide from horde with shadowmeld, which is nice when you’re likely outnumbered as an alliance player :D.

Also, if you have any interest in classic TBC playing a NE can be really good because you can shadowmeld to get out of combat then drink in arenas. This shouldn’t be discounted when quite a few games can come down to resource battles.

In any case, the game is so easy it really doesn’t matter what race you choose unless you are a min-maxing speedrunner. If you like NE then play it. I’ve seen several R14 NE’s and NE’s only have a slightly smaller toolkit than their Dwarf and Human counterparts. It’s not gamebreaking.

It’s really not that big of a deal. You’re slightly suboptimal, but it won’t stop you from finding groups. I’ve never been able to sacrifice aesthetics for optimality. After all, I’m a druid.

You actually made the smartest decision if you plan on playing The Burning Crusade. All priests are gifted with fear ward but only nelves have shadowmeld in the xpansion

Chastise is the best racial priests have in TBC. It’s so busted.

That’s because you’re playing in scrub raids? lol

That’s fine but people should honestly know what they’re getting into.

Do what night elf priests do better than any other priest races, use your superior racial abilities to dispel other people’s raid buffs and throw them off cliffs.

During BC, my second max level character was a male belf priest. That was my main for a few months, and I ended up deleting him, because I regretted not being UD.

A few months later, race change became a thing.

idk what advice I could give to you, but you do you. If rerolling isn’t a big deal to you, then reroll Dwarf. If it is a big deal to you, then find friends who don’t care what your race is. That isn’t actually that hard.

Fear Ward is so overrated it’s not even funny, and it won’t matter in TBC. Play what you like, not what others tell you to play.

This… I had to beat people over the head that BM was good again after Wrath… can’t tell you how many groups wanted to kick me because I had Tyrande’s bird out…

Imagine not being min max for 15 yr old raids.
