So this is how you fix:
Esc, then select options.
Select you desired line up, I just unchecked the first one that is all I needed.
How to edit your UI frames back to where it was and set UI.
Right click on your character name and select edit mode.
and you will see this.
Menu drop select classic mode than exit UI for those who want old UI back, you can edit and move things around if you like
Classic Mode:
I decided to keep everything in place except character frame. The highlights mean you can move you selection to your desired location.
I moved my character frame and sized it how I saw fit. I might need to make it just a tad smaller later.

I dabbled with it a bit more, this is my real set up.
Thank you but things I still don’t like are:
- Cannot make the chat frame narrower.
- Cannot re-size mini map.
- Bottom bar has static 12 slots where old bottom bars had 18 slots. So, now we need to put up with 12 slots or 24 slots across the bottom.
- New bag graphic cannot be re-sized, and there is something about the color that is hard for me to see.
- You cannot re-size the width of the quest pane.
- The little Zzzzz above my character in the upper left is annoying, distracting, and unnecessary.
It’s still not the same i need to post what I have now but I want what is in the frist pic the stone around the buttons the real gryphons and the mini map that’s actually mini.
I’ve already tinkered with it to get it as close to that as I can but I hate it.
Hopefully with the change there making to the silver dragons they will realize there are somethings that should be optional and not forced
Narrower than what? Go to edit mode, select the chat frame and on the bottom right corner is the same resizing toggle that has always existed. Click and drag to reshape/ resize.
Narrow as in the opposite of wide. Skinny - does that help? You can adjust the length but not the width.
That toggle is nearly invisible. It took me a long time to find it even when someone told me it existed.
All of this is literally little nit picky stuff.
You don’t like the zzz’s? That’s your big complaint? And the colour of the bag icon? Don’t you just hit B to open your bags? Even if you do click them, you can still click them without looking at them.

no…just reduce one action bar to 6 slots…+12 = 18
Then that’s a you problem. I looked for a way to adjust the size of my chat and found it in the exact same place it’s been for the last 17 years. Took about 10 seconds because I had to move my chat up first because it was slightly overlapping my bars.

yeah…its there. hard to see thru the highlighted box, but the same corner is there to grab, but only in edit mode now.
Back in my day, I remember the joke was that old people couldn’t figure out how to set the time on a VCR…
But the last couple of days have shown me that a lot of WoW players are those “old people”

The button is a little difficult to find. It’s on the bottom right but just above where you type your replies. Not in the bottom corner.

Sadly none of this works for me
Edit mode is broken for me and many others apparently. It opens collapsed and invisible and when I uncollapse it and uncheck/check boxes like “target frame and focus frame” it does nothing. I can’t save or anything and the target frame and many other UI elements are oddly at the top left of the screen (many of them aren’t even visible because they’re off the screen?)
You can configure this by adding another and making it 2 rows
No need to get to condescending. Lots of people were unable to see it or find it. It’s the unintuitive way compared to the rest of the UI options for resizing.
This happened to me. In order to fix it, I had to start fresh with a new WTF and Interface folder, delete my cache and do a Scan and Repair on the game.
No, Blizzard making it hard to see with the new highlighted boxes is THIER UI problem. I am not the one who did it. Imagine claiming a customer is at fault for Blizzard’s design. Also their other resizing is on the pop-up option menu and this one is not.
