Yeah its a weird change to make its been the same policy for over half a decade.
My theory is that since u can buy gold legally in all relevant versions of the game minus fresh via the token. And we got a new UI that places the shop right in our faces instead of hiding in the corner like it was we might unironically get a token lmao. There was too many players buying tokens and swapping them for blizz to just end that cash cow without another plan.
Half of fresh is buying gold anyway, blizzard might as well get their piece.
Yeah its ridiculous the amount of website gold buying going on lmao. But they get mad when a player give up 20 USD for a token to swap over.
Need more assistance for the portal guys!

I dont even gain anything if the token was put it, nor do i lose anything lmfao.
Lucky i done plenty enough trades to last me to TBC at least with epic flyers as well. Tokens will be in by then at the latest. Sooner the better though.
There’s always a piece of the puzzle missing for me.
If Blizzard suddenly started going nuclear on bots and RMT to protect the profit they receive from token, I couldn’t be too mad.
But that is the sad state of affairs we have isn’t it? That instead of a game being properly managed, I sit here hoping to bargain with Blizzard to manage their game.
Anyway, if the token can’t beat the price people pay now, they’ll still buy illegally.
It will be as big of a letdown as Dark Portal pass was and inevitably it will go down the same way it did for TBC the last time statistically. No big surprise either way.
