Hellfire or Diabolist?

Hellfire or Diabolist? I see a lot of Destro locks playing Diabolist and I do not know why. I am enjoying hellfire and just asking to see if I’m missing something or re-spec. Thanks

Hellcaller id say. More of your damage can’t be stopped. And those temps demons sometimes miss and can’t do much when someone drops los.

Also once you see those things hit something else other than your main target like random totems/air/pets it’s going to trigger some feelings lol.

Over a 3 min fight, wither will far outweigh the temp demons from Diabolist…also their heavily nerfed in pvp. Id say even in pve. I’ve seen streams of them hitting random mobs in mythic+.

why not try both and decide what you like better?

They’re playing Diabolist because it typically performs better than Hellcaller in just about everything.

As someone else mentioned, try both. See which one feels right.

I agree. A hero tree you like is much better than w.e performs best.

You don’t appreciate Hellcaller Destro until you step into Siege of Boralus.

With the amount of knock backs, knock ups, pull in, silence (stop casting), targeting circles, cone attacks, stuns, fire (literally), M+ orbs/affixes, pats…

Instant Wither + Soulburn build wins.
The only thing you risk casting is Cata and incinerate.

I went Diabolist because I liked the idea of summoning big demons as part of my rotation.

Enjoy what you want to play. However I think everyone is switching to diabolist just because it out performs hellcaller right now. I use hellcaller strictly for pvp.

And I think your personal performance goes up when you like it. Because it’s fits your playstyle.

They’re both good and you can’t go wrong with either. Diabolist is easily better for leveling and I felt like I was one shotting everything with shadow burns and greater demon spawns.

Hellcaller was slower for leveling, but by end game they’re both pretty close. Try then both and play what you like honestly.

It’s why I’m really enjoying Affliction right now.
The Hero Talents are both good and both different. One fits a more ST & fast profile, the other fits a multi-dotting ramp.

Despite how good SH is performing I just keep going back to HC for that multi-dot cleave damage. Especially in PVP. If I’m not #1 on the Damage Done then I’m not happy.
