So if we all know who Savix is I’ve seen his most recent YouTube video on the state of Shadowlands Ret Paladin and its…pretty abysmal. Shield of Vengance breaks in 2 spell casts we can get kites and slowed to infinity and we have ZERO defensive options. He even stated in the video he was dropping ret paladin for rogue class and frankly I’m thinking of doing the same. Blizzard screwed up SOOO BAD with ret changes and its concerning to the point that if these changes dont get fixed or ret isnt re-built from the ground up to have actual defensive and mitigation I may just unsub from wow altogether and I would suggest everyone else to do the same.
Blizzard has said time and time again “we want the classes to feel to their aesthetic.” Ok? So how does playing a class that can be kitted to absolute death cause we have ZERO gap closers and can be kitted for an eternity supposed to symbolize the “unstoppable unshakeable feeling of law bearing down on the enemy for their crimes?” Simple answer…it doesnt. Shadowlands is starting to look like what they promised in legion “if it feels/looks bad we will come in and change it” and they didnt at all. Ret has been my main since the lich king days and to see it with zero defensives and zero survivability is just…disgusting. Sorry blizzard but you screwed up MAJORLY and now you need to set it right.

The video has multiple points from Pvp pov which is true but I don’t pvp at all honestly so I can’t talk about it seriously… but pve wise it’s the same, we bring an immunity now nothing else, might as well bring other dps than ret currently.
The changes we got yesterday are a bit soft and some people claim it needs “some more to be ok” I totally disagree, the class needs a Spriest redesign at this point.

Barely that. A mage was hitting the shield and frost bolt, ice lance, done. Shield was broken.

Honestly I may give Acti-Blizzard a month. An entire month of time to actually fix ret paladin to playable quality before I just up and quit the game. It’s not worth my time or my money to throw it at a company who clearly doesnt give a crap about their player base or the obvious glaring problems staring them in the face.

I just made a post with that same video linked as reference…its so bad how rets issues are so obvious and easily fixed yet they do nothing about it
I mean, you know its bad when one of the biggest representatives of a class, and someone who built his entire youtube channel around, decides its in such a bad place as to quit and reroll! yet blizz will likely not do anything to fix the core issues and just take half measures.

Making a change like this would go a long way towards fixing our major issues.
Cavalier baseline, replaced with a talent that makes it to where casting Divine Steed removes snares & slows for it’s duration.
Rework Eye for an Eye to work on for all damage, but reduce it’s effectiveness from 35% to 25%.
Buff unbreakable spirit to go from 30% to 50% so it’s not a completely dead talent choice.
everyone should tweet this video at as many WoW devs as you can find the twitters of, and community managers. Tweet it at @WatcherDev (Ion), @holinka, @ckaleiki (specifically a PvP dev), @Kaivax (community manager), @devolore (community manager), and every other community manager/class dev/PvP dev you can find.
We need to make them understand that the state of this class is absolutely not ok.
If things don’t change I’ll likely be swapping my Rogue to my main as well, after maining Ret since TBC.

Then here is what you do. Unsubscribe from wow. MAKE them care. The easiest way to get people motivated solely by money is to hit them in their pocket book
Paid for 6 months in good faith that surely they would correct their issues. I am dumb.
I’m currently picking between rogue and shadow priest. Rogue is so much fun. Just like he shows in this video.

Rogues, locks and mages just need a kick in the nuts for like 2 expansions.
No they don’t… The players dont deserve to suffer for Blizzard’s nonsense. They just need to be brought down to the same level as everyone else.
