Heirloom Upgrade Price

Anyone else agree that it is way too expensive to upgrade ONE item!?

I have like 20+ alts right, and it is going to be uber-expensive to upgrade heirlooms in 10.1!

Regardless, I think it is too expensive for anyone, really.

they’re pretty much useless if you quest.

…about the only reason to upgrade them, is if you want to retain a transmog.

Heirlooms in general kinda stopped making a whole lot of sense now that the leveling has been squished back down. Assuming of course you decide to quest in one of the more recent expansions and not decide to go cruising around Outland or something where the gear you get from questing varies quite stupidly.

Sort of.

They did bump up heirloom power relative to the stuff you find out in the world and have to keep re-equipping. So they aren’t complete garbo like they were when they first removed the xp bonus.

Now are they up to being worth the latest xpac? Not sure. In SL they were not, but they were useful in getting from the 1-50 range (so those upgrades were worth it).

Yes, but luckily heirlooms are pretty worthless these days.

Honestly, I think you guys get too hung up on it. You can level just fine with the questing and greens/blues you get while leveling. Now that they removed the XP bonus, it really lost it’s main appeal.

I have already payed for all of those upgrades and will not be buying them again, particularly since they crippled them and made them basically useless.

Charging us again for gear they wrecked, bad form Blizzard.

Heirlooms need a proper revamp.

The changes they made gutted them.

They should also just be one fixed price.

Tbh I doubt they are even better than crafted gear you can get for dirt cheap. You get what? 4 armor pieces, cloak, neck, and ring at 310 IL the second you hit 61 so I doubt they are anything higher than mid 200s at that level.

Not worth it anymore, without the extra XP.

i certainly wouldn’t use gold for upgrades.
there are plenty of holiday events which give currency to buy upgrades.

I mean heirlooms are pretty much worthless now that they removed the XP boost they offered. Was really dumb too when they did as they were an effective tool to level with. Now their just a stat stick that you never replace until you’re level 60 or so.

7500 Gold?

World Quests give 500-700 gold each, not just the dragon riding ones. If you unlock tackle box collection from the Tuskarr then you can easily make thousands of gold per hour with low effort just from vendor trash.

Shouldn’t be too hard to upgrade them. Might pinch if you do every item at once though.

Personally, I stopped upgrading my heirlooms at 4/5. I just replace them with greens at that point.

Leveling is so quick now I level just fine on my alts. Haven’t upgraded many heirlooms past level 39 threshold.

IMO heirloom upgrade is not worth since how much they buffed leveling speed. It used to be worth when we had to go through 120 levels.

Not really worth it now to upgrade Heirlooms, especially with the cost. I spent way more gold leveling heirlooms back in the day than I care to think about.

The only heirlooms that are worth using are no longer available: the heirlooms Garrosh dropped at the end of MoP.

After Blizzard removed the experience buff, you’re not really missing out once your character is above level 25.

My only issue with heirlooms is that there are too many ranks for the level squish. I was hoping that with the increase to 70 they would just expand the levels of the current ranks vs adding another rank to purchase.

I have leveled over fifty toons and I have never upgraded my heirlooms fully. I can’t imagine it’s a big deal ignoring the lvling. It mattered when there was an x p bonus

Only looms worth the upgrade imo nowadays are the weapons, and trinkets. The set bonus is pretty much useless unless you park alts to build up rested xp. You can also use time warp badges instead of gold to buy the upgrade tokens. Honestly wish they would have just buffed the stats up some on looms after removing the xp bonuses, instead of the weird set bonus gimmick they came up with.

At this time heirlooms have a much higher ilvl than quest gear.
