Heirloom question

Hello all! I’ll try to explain this as best I can, but basically I have a question about heirlooms.

I’m a returning player and haven’t played since MoP. Before I stopped playing I bought 3-4 Heirlooms for a new Warrior character I made. I sent them through the mail, and I got on my new Warrior just to make sure they came through. They were in my mailbox but I didn’t collect them right away. One thing lead to another and I ended up taking a break from the game. Three expansions later I come back and log onto my Warrior only to discover that my Heirlooms are no longer in my inbox. My guess is they must have expired in the mailbox after 30 days.

Is there a way to recover the lost Heirloom items? I saw something about new Heirloom tabs but I’m unsure how that works if my Herilooms were lost prior to that patch. Thank you!

Heirlooms are basically conjured items. Go to your heirloom collection window and just create more on any toon you have. You can make as much as you want. You don’t need to post them.

There is a Collections tab on your mini menu. Looks like a horse head (at least on Alliance side). Open that, and look for the Heirlooms tab. Right click on the non-grey items and they will end up in your bags.

Have fun!

The two responses may be invalid if he did this before heirlooms counted as collectibles as he still needed to log in each and every character that had in their bags to count. You would have a total of 60 days to claim them, 30 days to the sent for it to go back to the sender and 30 days sitting in the sender’s mail.

It would have spent 60 days in the mail system, 30 days on the character, 30 days after being bounced back. One it decays in the mail the system logs are not kept long, and the time frame you stated pretty much means the answer would be no.

Since you quit before the collection UI was added, it would also not be there unless you happened to have that same heirloom in the inventory of another character, so make sure to log into all your characters to register any active heirlooms left over.

Yes unfortunately this happened about 4 years ago. I just checked the Heirloom tab and the items are not there. So there’s no way to recover them?

You have to buy them again, unfortunately now with Gold instead of Justice Points/Badges.

Many heirlooms are available for purchase with prize tickets at the Darkmoon Faire, so you don’t have to necessarily spend gold on them. You can also purchase an item to upgrade them to level 90 (from 60). Most holidays also have items (purchasable with holiday currency) to upgrade to higher levels. Darkmoon prize tickets are earned by completing the many available games. You can do these games once per day during the Faire. There are also once-per-Faire profession quests that offer prize tickets.

You may not be able to replace all your heirlooms in one Faire, but you should get a good start. The Darkmoon Faire is once a month, starting on the first Sunday of the month. It doesn’t always show up on the calendar (due to a bug) but you’ll know it’s up by seeing the banners around your major cities.
