Some thing I’ve gathered over different posts regarding Heirloom over the passed few days/months/years and follow-up to my own post
Current issues :
- Too pricy
- Bonuses are close to useless
- Not on every slot
- Leveling already is too fast to care about them
My ideas for solutions :
- First off, the price.
It needs to significantly be reduced. The total price to fully upgrade a piece of armor/trinket/shield/offhand is 18,500g, meaning to fully upgrade a set of 5 pieces it costs 92,500g. If you add in this 1 shield/offhand, 1 trinket, 1 ring and 1 necklace that comes up to 166,500g.
The total price for a weapon is 27,750g. Meaning now for 1 full set we’re up to 194,250g. That is WAY TOO MUCH.
If we want 1 piece of armor of each type as well as 2 cloaks, 2 rings, 2 trinkets and 1 necklace as well as 1 weapon for each class (so basically a 2h Agi, a 2h strength, a 2h intell, a shield, a bow, a 1h agi, a 1h strength and a dagger) to max level (70) that comes up to 638,250g. Also that’s the minimum as with this we’re just looking at iLvl and Mainstats and weildability (not that other stuff matters, but some might want more choices, that’s the minimum to have 1 of everything). This is absurd. The prices should be 1/10th of what this is, the most I’d say is tolerable is 1/5th, but even then, the second point answers why they should be that cheap. Also for anyone saying use Timewalking Badges, this comes up to about 186,000 Badges, so no thanks, as this is 372 dungeons giving the quest reward for 500.
- Second off, the bonuses.
The bonuses that we used to have on them used to give flat out XP increase. Now, I understand that with how fast leveling has become that would be a bit overkill, but the current ones that we have are close to useless anyways.
So I see 2 solutions. Either, completely remove the bonuses and reduce the price in exchange too, as the Rested XP already is not something every player has at all time and also because for it to be worth something you actually need to not play a character for like what is it, 1 or 2 weeks for full Rested XP ? That’s dumb if I want to level a character in the moment.
Also for the other buffs, the regen buff is kinda useless as food is literally everywhere, on mobs, in towns where quests are, on mounts even… so regen out of combat is really not a great buff as anyhow, during questing, if you have this set you take barely any damage and kill everything quickly enough that health isn’t an issue. Also half the class can just heal themselves.
And as for the third buff, the damage dealt is minimal, the main stats bonus is also minimal (40 intellect at level 59 k lol) and the duration too short.
Or completely revamp them again, with stuff people will actually find useful, like idk maybe reset heartstone if wearing 6 pieces every 3 levels, or auto repair all pieces, or level off-pieces, something at least useful.
- Third and fourth issue, not on every slot and people couldn’t care less about heirlooms already
The sets should honestly be for every slot, as then 1 piece comes up to dozens if not hundreds of ilvl over some others when we level really fast, and then those pieces become jank for no reasons.
Tho the amount of pieces currently on is weird. 3 different plate helmets, with 2 sharing the same stats, 2 different mail and leather helmets sharing the same stats, only 1 cloth helm… Make it make sense.
I’d say completely remove the options, make a basic, 1 type 1 piece for each slot, with a little bit of all useful leveling stats, so Crit, Haste and Versatility. And sure maybe keep the weapons as they are today as a lot are different, but for the armor… damn.
Also a lot of people uses heirloom yes cause gear is scaling so it makes leveling actually fun when leveling fast but also to transmog gear, and having to transmog off pieces nonstop while main ones stays good-looking is really weird.
