Hearthstone event - Dr. Boom "Ash Bomb" ticking way too often in a single instant

The Ash Bomb ability that Dr. Boom uses during the Hearthstone event is basically one-shotting melee if there are too many players nearby when it goes off. It fires so many damage events that the game briefly lags out if the area is populated. Definitely needs looked at.

I agree.  Dr. Boom nearly wiped out the entire 40-player raid I was a part of – and that was with my own Healing Tide Totem and Poison Cleansing Totem.  (That was all I really could do because the lag was horrible.)

Another fun addition I noticed with this bug is that the bomb’s radius is far larger than the animation suggests. The circle is probably about 15 yards, so someone could be targeted and “run out” with it thinking they and everyone else are fine.

The reality is the range of effect is about 30 yards and will continuously disorient and damage players in that range while it is up. It seems that if the server is lagging, these damage events actually occur more often than if the server is performing normally, as I was able to survive an instance of this bomb’s outrageous range in a shard that wasn’t lagging.

Thankfully, being unavoidably killed doesn’t seem to impede looting.

Yeah, I also noticed one time when I instinctively released that you don’t lose the tag during the runback if Boom dies before you get back in range. Hilarious yet annoying to see 30+ ghosts running back all at the same time.
