Heart of Flame Quest Bugged

Tried to absorb “Smoldering Essences” from Firelands bosses to complete by Heart of Flame quest for the DragonWrath quest but got none. The animation goes off and the dead boss looses the Buff that shows the quest item but didn’t receive progress on the quest tracker. Super bummer since I was supposed to finish my staff this week :[

I assume this might be the result of the the addition of Timewalking to Firelands. I did notice some differences after zoning in as well, ie several specific pats were missing.

You used the staff on each of the bosses on the ground?

I can confirm, I killed two bosses, used the staff on their corpses, but received no smoldering essences. I also noticed you can no longer set the raid to 25 player, only 10, and I’m wondering what effect that might have on the amount of essence dropped when this gets fixed…

Yep, killed first boss and was surprised when i didn’t collect any. Logged out the back in just to see if the tracker didn’t update. Killed the second boss and same thing :confused:

iv got the same problem too, nothing collects, just the animation.

Unbelievable… we are on same boat. I tried to run firelands to get the remaining essences for my mage. It is not working at all.

I was sooooo excited to log in today too. Was finally gonna get my staff and… yeah.

Same issue. I was just in here last night collecting Essences, and now I can’t get it set to 25 Heroic – and 10 heroic doesn’t drop Essences. :frowning:

Hotfix applied fixes this problem. Also, I put in a ticket when this happened and got a response saying to disable to my addons and if that doesn’t fix it then to submit a bug report -_- Looks like we lost out on a weeks worth of progress. I was able to do the rest of the bosses today but now Ragnaros isn’t spawning at all.

I put in a ticket for this issue as well and the first response I got was a completely useless response telling me how to do the quest, even though I initially said I was at 201 Essences already. The second response was basically just a “too bad, sorry not sorry” type of response followed by a link to this post.

They gave me the same answer… disable add on. If the problem continues they recommended me to report bug.

Hey Sÿn, for the second try, the absorbing essences worked for you ? For me is not working at all.

Yes it worked for me the second time around. Ragnaros never spawned at the end, so no clue whats going on there. Ended up missing 10 essence QQ

Thank you! I didn’t get any this week either! Noticed half the mobs missing and also got no Ragnaros. Useless try using the staff and try disabling add-ons information for me too. Better luck next week, it works on my machine. So mad.

I am on the quest now, and doing Ragnaros on Normal. The corpse of Ragnaros disappeared and I could not absorb his essence.
