So I finally did it. The long AP grind was temporarily over as of yesterday for me as I capped my Heart of Azeroth at level 50, but I was perplexed when I logged in today to see azerite quests all over the map. I understand that AP will be relevant again when 8.2 drops sometime in July, but why not give more world quests with war resources, gold, or reputation? One would have thought that there would be more non-azerite choices for world quests, but the world quest map feels more restrictive since azerite is of no value anymore. There’s still the daily emissary to do and no one wants to do azerite quests when they give no reward just for an emissary completion. Is it possible that blizzard can implement a fix for this? I just don’t understand how Blizzard could have not predicted that players would cap the Heart of Azeroth weeks before 8.2. I don’t want to be a cynic, but the joke seems to be on the players who put extra time in to complete this thing early on to free up their schedules to do other things.
Wow, that’s crazy. 433 ilvl neck? You broke the cap! Grats man.
My guess is that it’s probably too difficult to have the available world quests personalize like that, and replace the AP ones with other options for those players who no longer need AP. And/or that they really didn’t expect anyone to hit the cap, or at least not enough people that it would become an issue.
The joke may be on you and such players at the cap, but I have a feeling there’s probably only like, five of you. Not enough for Blizzard to want to solve this problem. Especially when it’ll solve itself when the new neck stuff drops soon.
Yeah I get what you’re saying. At the time of writing this, there are 1,316 players with a neck level 50 and 3,696 players with a neck level of 49 according to wowprogress. Those players with neck 49 should be 50 by the end of the week. Fast forward 1 month and there will basically be over 10,000 players with a neck level of 50 by the time azerite knowledge disappears. Each of those players current neck 50 are theoretically paying $14.99 per month so that’s at most a $20k value blizzard is receiving, yet giving players less content because the next content making azerite valuable again isn’t available until July. One month later it will be a theoretical $149,900 value being paid out to blizzard once those 10k players achieve neck 50 where more voices will descend onto the forums. I mean for $150k a month, blizzard could drop additional gold or reputation quests is all I’m saying. I’m sure it’s harder for blizzard to do, but $150k is a lot of money to receive for a system that going to give out less content in the foreseeable future.
Mine is 49,and I was hoping for more quests when it caps.I guess I can farm transmog.
Here is a possible solution to that problem. Give players a choice of emissary rewards like you get in a lot of quests, Azerite or chest with random loot.
At least let me vendor it for a decent amount of gold, or to catch people up let us sell them on the AH or something or make them BOA so we can apply them to alts.
Same history. Been playing BfA non-stop since before launch (yes, I’m one of those few people that somehow enjoyed it, might have been my 8 year hiatus).
When it finally got to 50, I noticed noticing changed in the quests. They still give me AP which goes somewhere (I do hope it’s not completely wasted). At least turn the AP into gold, or anything usable? I totally understand the need for a cap, but throwing away the reward itself is a bad idea (and bad planning, tbh, this situation is unavoidable).
i am at lvl 44 (on my DK) with mine and i rarely do WQ unless there is a possibility of upgrades or required for the time gating story.
i just wish now i played with 1 toon instead of 5 so i could have better stats on one guy instead of average on many.
With that being said, I hope that they are keeping track of the extra AP and give a bag or something like they do on rep
I have been wondering the same thing. I capped my neck at 50 out last week and there’s now essentially no rewards from a lot of world quests but in particular the emissaries.
I capped at 50 last week and suddenly there is so much less to do…sad.
totally agree, i reached 50 and … i dont know it felt strange that you get no achievement, no bonus and on top of that there is NO alternative for the azerite that u get from WQ, islands etc etc. That’s wrong, i gave up islands, i stopped invasions, it’s dead boring and it’s nonsense : again, the progression isnt rewarded. it is SO simple to just replace azerite with something else, offer some kind of bonus … overall this grinding was the worst ever : so many options to reward progression : you get extra points each 10 levels, you get a bonus at 40/45 and 50 i dont know… that FLAT, linear progression with a full sTOP at the end is another thing where you realise content in BFA is poor.
Blizz is trying to kill of the game… shhhhh
Well i am starting on alliance toons have all 12 horde classes at 120 and in 45-49 ap(well the pally will get cap soon) for the neck, and i am a really casual player ie no raiding no dungeons guild with just basically me and a friend who stopped playing 2 months after launch.
I had already cut back on playing the bigger toons to level all the babies.
If i with my meandering pace am at cap… wow
