On topic: saberon would be cool but I don’t see it happening tbh. If it did, they should have the demon hunters double jump as a racial passive, so demon hunters can know what its like to have abilities stolen.
More realistically, I want to see satyrs as an allied race. They’re close enough to the worgen frame that they’d fit that requirement, theyre technically elves but dont look lame like elves, they have the hooves and tails like draenei and can steal the waggle, they’re a beastly race but not entirely furry, they have close lore connections to the night elves, emerald dream, burning legion, and emerald nightmare, which means they probably also have some connection to the shadowlands, and they look very similar to the night fae
Satyrs would also bring alliance another druid race, and their druid forms could be “corrupted/nightmare” style forms which would bring some much needed evilness to the alliance. I imagine they would also have warlocks, rogues, hunters, possibly mages and fit all of those well, and still go for the usual warrior/monk/deathknight open classes. They could even be demon hunters possibly, with whatever horde race gets added also bringing the same.
As far as racials, they’d probably be similar to night elves, we know they can shadowmeld, I would love some emerald nightmare style racials too.
https://youtu.be/cEaurbg7XtQ?t=1468 Mag’har unlock scenario, those things running in the background that are not in AU? That’s Saberon (also some Botani there as well)
Um, sure if orcs can grow a tail, full body fur and their legs go digitigrade uniformly over that number of them, lets bring those ‘orcs’ in to the Horde, they’re orcs right? (going with the joke for that, as I personally think Saberon would be nifty regardless of which faction)
Not sure I understand the correlation, but resorting to passive aggressiveness further dilutes your credibility.
I honestly don’t have faith in them to do anything meaningful with classes for Shadowlands. Hopefully next expac but we’ll see… I am def in the minority who thinks “Mechagnomes” are cool, but overall the allied races are getting stale to me.
It is kind of you to think of something for the alliance that is not a source of shame, embarrassment or disappointment, but I don’t think we can have anything good in the alliance.
Only the ones we’ve seen as junkgnomes, protruding navel kultirans and purple blood elves.
Devs do not seem to be able to think of anything that does not alienate or embarrass the alliance.
Simply put, Blizzard has followed a trend for class design. That trend has been simple, easy, and repeatable.
I believe, within a reasonable amount of doubt, that the next time they add a class they are going to continue to follow the same trend, instead of breaking from their established pattern.
I don’t think anything big is coming for shadowlands, and that thought genuinely scares me, because I don’t think this game will do too well with another flopped expansion with nothing marketable to it.
Frankly, Chaosmatrix. (which is a rad name by the way) I wish you were right, and blizzard was willing to take risks and liberties, That way we may get something genuinely exciting for shadowlands. But it’s looking pretty bleak now.
As for Allied Races, I really hope the Alliance doesn’t expect to get much. If history is anything to show for, Blizzard clearly gives more time and effort to the Horde. Even as a self proclaimed Mechagnome fan yourself, I hope you can see the clear imbalance of Effort between the Mechagnomes and the Vulpera.
Fatally, it would be Horde cats vs. Virmen Ally ( Pandaria ).
And even if Blizzard wanted to do something less disheartening for ally, we would end up seeing the cats beating the dogs.
Good post Liianas, and I agree with you, Blizz has stuck to a trend for the most part even though DH seems to go a little beyond the usual. I never got into the DH class, but I see their design as something new.
I agree with you about Shadowlands which is sad because I think it is a missed opportunity. The only excitement I feel for Shadowlands is the fact it will be a new expac and BfA will finally be over.
I disagree about the “effort” in Mechagnomes as I think neither race took much effort. But, I will say it should have been obvious which race would be more desirable. Blizz failed the Alliance by not incorporating the Sethrak story as Alliance instead of Horde. Another missed opportunity…
I think this whole expac has been one of missed opportunity and Shadowlands seems to likely follow the same pattern…
I could get behind them as an allied race. I still think that allied races should be used to bring in unique races that traditionally don’t fit the mold for the faction. They are forced into working together in spite of their differences and then become allies.
Stating a fact isn’t trashing an idea. It’s an established fact that they’re the same. It’s canon. It’s not disputable. “Blood” elf is a political name only. Case closed. Project any narrative you want in saying people are mean or don’t want others to have fun. It’s just a fact.
Demon Hunter in WC3: Agility Melee Hero, excels at taking down enemy casters.
Abilities include: Immolation, Evasion, Mana Burn, and Metamorphosis.
Demon Hunter In WoW: Agility Melee Hero, excels at taking down enemy casters.
Abilities include: Immolation, Blur, Mana Rift, Metamorphosis.
I don’t see how this is new compared to Monk or Death Knight. Which did mostly the same thing for their class design.
Also, The Alliance will never get an Allied race that isn’t generically humanoid, or a recolor of an existing race. That’s simply all Blizzard thinks of the Alliance and their characters. If Blizzard genuinely cares about something they’ve made. It’ll be accessible to the Horde. That’s where all the Devs play, and all the best Raiders are.
Someone has a vendetta against a certain race and they are trying to put others down wo do like them.
The fact is combined with something that gives it a different context.
Besides its pointless anyway. People are complaining about something they never even had any control over. The alliance was always going to get some kind of AR using the gnome rig or is a gnome. Same goes with Vulpera tbh. Now because Vulpera was confirmed as an AR, they would be lead to believe that their campaigning made an impact on how likely Vulpera was an AR, but in reality its more of just a side effect.
