I think with the new shadowlands lore now, combined with venthyr in the living realm in karesh via tazavesh, would make the Venthyr a great true neutral allied race like the pandaren. I haven’t thoroughly thought them out yet but I think it would make a great addition.
For classes, they could have Druid(stone animals basically), Warlock, Priest, Death Knight, Hunter, Rogue, Mage, Monk
Warrior. And any hero class that may be introduced in the future.
Racial abilities can be the zone abilities from Revendreth with some modifications.
I can’t get behind this. The only Venthyr willed into existence are the original court of harvesters. This means any player character of a Venthyr is by default a redeemed soul and would be remanded to the shadowlands as a passed on person.
It’s bad enough the champion and a bunch other characters can portal to the realm of death all Willy Nilly completely making death pointless in the lore.
Well the new lore is basically just the shadowlands are an ordered death and not the true death. And with that venthyr band(?) in tazavesh, now in karesh, they essentially arent bound to the shadowlands, anymore at least.
11.2.7 spoilers from sylvanas. I am reaching a bit with the conclusion though. Its moreso hinted at that there is more to death than the shadowlands and some more stuff.
There’s even less chance of a race born from the Shadowlands becoming playable now as when that expansion was current, and it wasn’t very high then, either.
Druidism is more than just shapeshifting, and I can’t fathom venthyr suddenly being versed in something that’s more sylvar territory.
Giving them priests and DKs but not mages or monks doesn’t make much sense, either.
I’d rather they just add san’layn to avoid another void elf vs. high elf situation, but Blizzard would rather use them as the name of a priest talent and a DK hero spec and give three races some haphazardly-introduced Darkfallen customization.
