Remix’s point is to roflstomp the entire game and access guaranteed cosmetics. Shadowlands, for all its issues, has AMAZING cosmetics. Include an item that lets you teleport between the zones and we have a remix that means you no longer have to farm Shadowlands for a chance at some of the nicest cosmetics in the entire game. You just get them, guaranteed.
There are so many gorgeous Shadowlands cosmetics, you guys, but I don’t want to go there because it’s so annoying. Also remix Torghast could be potentially Very Funny. I still maintain that Torghast could have been one of the greatest things they ever added to WoW if they hadn’t made it a mandatory expansion feature.
Anyway I want Castle Nathria’s tier sets but I have not set foot in Nathria because everything in Shadowlands is so annoying to get to so like. please. please. please. please. please.
I would be down for a Shadowlands remix. I liked Torghast, I had this fun build on my druid where I could just use my entangling roots and watch mobs slowly die while I /danced at them.
This. As much as I hate and have railed against Shadowlands, I want those sets. There are other cosmetics that I want too. So yeah, now that I’ve experienced a remix, I would be okay with it.
i don’t find remix all that fun, either, but the appeal is that i can turn on an audiobook or watch a movie while i’m meaninglessly grinding out new mounts, and honestly, I’ve watched Rosemary’s Baby for the first time in Lemix so it’s been pretty nice.
I have to watch some films to do research for a character that’s into movies, and this is a good excuse to do so.
While I disagreed with the story direction, I enjoyed Shadowlands for what it was worth. It was mostly tarnished for me due to the drama that was occurring at Blizzard internally at the time.
If they allow you to skip the time gated content, like the mission table, I can see a Shadowlands remix being a lot of fun.
Shadowlands wasn’t even awful for me storywise. It was awful mechanic wise, it was a lesson in four hundred degrees of frustration to get an alt caught up and several degrees of insanity to meld through the conduit system. Plus the weird threads of fate limitations and otherwise dragging main campaign that locked you out of everything.
If they fix it mechanically, (which a lot of previously implemented methods already somewhat alleviated though not perfectly) it has a lot of potential to fix a ton of pain points.
And stuffing all the zones onto one flyable map would also be a huge start too.
And also idk putting a chair in Oribos, or something. But let’s be honest with that, it’s an airport and airports are never fun so that one really isn’t on Blizzard.
there are actually aspects of shadowlands i like tbh
most of these are Denathrius but shh.
realistically, i actually was kinda into the Shadowlands as zones, esp now that I’m replaying through them. Sylvanas sucks and anything that focuses on her too much is lame, but I really like everyone else in Shadowlands. And it really does add to my theory that WoW is a Side Character Game and everything is about the randoms on the side of the road that you meet off the main story track. Because even my least-favorite expac, BFA, has really great side characters and sub stories.
I’ve said in the past that the Remix game mode would be a great way to rehabilitate an expansion’s content. While it wouldn’t do much for the damage they did with the story, there’s probably a lot they could do to re-tool the Covenant and Conduit system to fit the Remix gameplay style.
Frankly, Warlords, BfA, and Shadowlands would all benefit from the Remix treatment.
As much as I rage and curse and froth at the mouth about Shadowlands, this would actually work, especially if they removed the time-gating, sped up content like the winter queen’s conservatory, the venthyr ball and such and made it far easier to do them, and far quicker to gain access to account-wide Covenant Reputation and/or rewards without it needing months of grinding and farming and currency conversion and swapping and raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh, then it would be amazing.
Meme it up even like they dabbled with in Pandaria Re:Mix and like they’re embracing in Legion Re:Mix. Poke holes and fun at the players’ favourite gripes with the expansion, play up “Well, that was awful, let’s make sure that doesn’t happen again in the future!” from the Infinites, have actual interaction between the Shadowland Natives and the Infinites and have the Infinite Dragons go “… Oh. Oh no. They can see us and know what we’re doing?!” much like how the Spirit Healers in Legion Remix are Shadowlands creatures, not the angelic-looking women we’re familiar with.
I think it could work if changing covenants was unlock from the start, or very close to it.
There is a ton of great sets, mount, and cosmetics. It could also give people an easier opportunity for the “out in the Shadowlands you need a special thing to make a horse mad and don’t die” mount experiences.
I encouraged a Slands remix once before and no one seemed to want it.
My only thought is that it seems like the perfect idea for a remix - an expac universally hated. Redo it and get the bitter taste out of everyone’s mouth.
I’d rather have LK remix, but at this point, I think I could deal with SL. Maybe. Ofc I’m not really grinding Lemix, so I probably wouldn’t stick with SL.
I’d be all in for a shadowlands remix tbh. I absolutely do not want to do the Kyrian covenant achievements for their armor sets. All the sci-fantasy stuff in Zereth Mortis looks great on my Draenei and absolutely fits them perfectly.
oh i totally agree, there was some side quest stuff i really enjoyed in bfa and shadowlands. my gripe with shadowlands especially, something was happening that could have been really cool and then a boring lore character showed up to whine about honour and that’s right I’m talking about you Draka, stealing me from the cool skeleton gladiator war.
