Hey so im back from a break of WoW and i was wondering, Wich server is more healthy ?
PVP or PVE. I wanna reroll and I want to have a nice community to play with
Right now the PVE server is potentially better, but you should make a character there and look at the auction house first, also check out each dungeon on the faction you play and do a /who, and then check each zone and do a /who on each on you plan to level in.
Then also look at the LFG chat regarding boosts, if there are tons of boosts its going to be harder to group because players are lazy and take the path of least resistance, I assume you want to actually play and not boost a character.
Nightslayer right now is rather fried, so may be wise to avoid that, but maybe that’s your thing, I don’t know.
wow finally a wise man mr.Harland; on of the 1st things you should do is goto the AH; but more than that goto the main city of that faction; either SW and IF and Org and UC. See how populated it is. From these two things AH and just people u should know. In AH look for low level items and their prices. I quit playing on Whitemane because there were no weapons for a level 27 warrior to buy. It was like a wake up call. I presonally would pick Nightslayer thats what I play on.
to be fair even on a well populated server there is not much for a level 27 melee to get, the pickings in that level range are really trash. I have leveled a lot of characters and that level range really sucks if you want to get a decent AH weapon, its just as bad in the dungeons also. Best thing you can do at that 25 to 30 range is just get past it as quickly as you can in a group leveling experience or get some fast green weapons and put sharpening stones on them is what I do. Gear gets better at 35 and higher.
thats totally untrue on Nightslayer. I should know I just levelled 4 charcters; Lock, Warrior, Rogue and Priest. things that should be cheap are cheap. no one can price gouge you in the AH and thats how u know u in a good server.
You’re not required to buy gold to play on Dreamscythe.
Funny but
[Nightslayer]PvP US Full 15108 / 15365
[Dreamscythe] PvE US High 10808 / 6842
Nightslayer all the way.
i think you misunderstand what I am saying. I was pointing out that if you want a decent weapon you will not find a good weapon on the auction house, you can get crappy greens but not anything good or worth buying. As a result I just get the fastest highest dps daggers I can find and put sharpening stones on them to push my damage up as high as I can get it in respect to PVE killing, I do this for both rogue and warrior, and its very effective on warrior because of how range works. As for arms, you are kinda hooped because in that level range only crappy greens are present and leveling 2 hand arms is so painful, I just cant do it.
and i understood what u said and I am disagreeing with you.
There are a ton of blues at all levels, in weapons and armour. Not saying they cheap.
Nightslayer reminds me of a proper old school wow vanilla server - like it or lump it, thats a fact.
link me some truly good 2 hand weapons at that level range for warrior. I cant find a single one worth getting on Wowhead at the range you spec being level 27. Maybe I am way more picky than you.
Yeah, I have a 60 on nighslayer and the community is meh. Thats why i was wondering if Dreamscythe had a more “casual” community
I don’t know for sure, but I hear its better by people who I have played with in the past and went there.
I haven’t had any major issues on the server. I haven’t done anything low level in a while so not sure about those dungeons, but I did just start a Druid so will be finding out shortly I guess. Past that its been the normal stuff, usually enough people to get help in a zone if you want to do that. Some of the low level commodities are cheaper than I would expect them to be tbh, but you can usually move low level greens for some decent silver while you are leveling so it isn’t too painful early on.
I think Runecloth bags are going for about 2.5g a pop, Felcloth 4.5g-5g a pop, and Mooncloth going for about 23-25g a pop just for some price ideas.
Okay and what class would you suggest as a reroll on a new server to get going ?
I like to play every class and druid is very tempting
I’ll be honest that something I don’t know specifically cause I’ve always been one to level a million characters and let them sit at 15 for 6 months and then just go crazy on them for a week and let them sit again.
I guess the general rules apply. If you want an easier time finding dungeon runs go with something that can tank or heal and be willing to do that. If you want and easy time leveling hunters and locks are always a good go too.
I’d give my usual advice, play what you enjoy but know the ups and down you may run into playing that class.
If you want community, go to Dreamscythe.
While I’ve found plenty of pleasant people on Nightslayer - It’s a PvP server, a megaserver, and both nightslayer discords do little to curb the toxic community.
If World PvP is not a factor, you’d probably find more community on Dreamscythe.
The community is smaller on DS; but, I believe its made up of a “kinder” set of people than those who roll Nightslayer. Not to say all Nightslayer players are toxic but in my 1-60 journey there it has not been the kindest.
-Zug Zug on Dreamscythe
Healthier hands down DS. Just look at the AH. When u find the right guild; thats the key
