There needs to be more ways to reduce the amount of healing received on a target. Right now, even any paladin spec can heal for way too much. Right now, you probably need around 2-3 people to take down a decent discipline priest. It’s really really stupid.
Good. If a single dps can take down a healer by themselves, what good is their to having a healer?
Healers by design are meant to out heal incoming damage. If they can’t do that, then what is the point. But what am I debating with you over this topic for.
You’re cooked.
We get a nice balance of both threads, it seems.
People complain that healers are being killed too easily and folks come back with “Good! No more dampening games!”
People complain that healers and too strong and folks come back with “Good! Healers should be hard to kill or no one will play them!”
It’s odd that the community can’t get on the same page. Not just about which scenario we prefer, but about which one is more accurate.
Yes. It’s just like real life. People disagree about all sort of things. But we all know that healers are overpowered.
The abundance of topics claiming that healers are too easy to kill would indicate that we do not, in fact, all “know” that.
I don’t know what sort of squishy garbage they’re playing, but i’m seeing holy paladins using instant heals for 75% of their hp. Disc priests with two schools of magic for heals and shields. Druids who can switch to bear form, stacking a bunch of hots, and shamans who basically can’t be killed. I don’t really know about monk healers though. They’re probably very annoying in some way.
Have you tried playing a healer, OP?
Such a stupid argument. The point of a healer is that…they can heal other people. They are a force multiplier. When they become unkillable demi-gods the game is terrible (see BFA).
Yeah. Back in Burning Crusade and Wotlk I used to heal as a shaman. Back then you had to pay attention to your mana.
I’ve always felt like healers in Arenas are to easily killed in 3s but unstoppable in 2s. I feel like a lot of the disagreements about what is strong and what isnt on this forum is due to people arguing from differing 2s vs 3s vs bg perspectives. Always kinda liked the skirm model of having 2s be double dps only.
I suggest you try playing one now, and see if your opinion remains the same.
I just don’t want to. Healing seems very boring to me. I like dealing damage. It’s why I became a frostmage who hard casts 1k damage frostbolts. Huge damage.
We’re not talking about unkillable demi-gods. We’re talking about no cc chaining, no kicking, mindlessly trying to kill a healer and thinking you should be able to just simply kill the healer. If the healer can’t perform their function with a few people on them, then what is the point. To make you feel better that you got a kill because the spec is useless and you simply mongoloided your face on a keyboard and pushed some cooldowns? Healers can be killed without peels in proper cc chains now, but they were never meant to be simply fodder for 1 dps to kill instantly and negate the role. Thanks for playing.
You’re supposed to peel for your healers. They aren’t supposed to face tank 2 dps and not die.
The problem is that you can add all those hybrid classes as healers. Elemental shamans, enhancement shamans, ret paladins, protection paladins, etc. They all heal for too much. In fact, they probably shouldn’t even have access to heals. They already have so many ways to negate damage.
Or if you really want them to have a heal, give them huge cooldowns.
Disc priests are a big issue to me, because you can interrupt their holy heals, but then they’ll just spam shadow mend instead, and it heals for far too much. If you’re a garbage frost mage (only class who doesn’t have a stun), you’re out of luck.
They have heals, they have hp, they have defensives. Yes, they are supposed to be able to sit there and heal and face tank 2 dps if the dps are bad and don’t 1, kick, and 2, cc. That is HOW it’s supposed to be. Eventually if they don’t get healed, the healer runs out of cooldowns and your mongoloiding dps keyboard facerolling will win the war of attrition due to this thing called mana. You act like a healer casts 1 heal and sits there standing still laughing at all the miserable dps. They are rotating all their cooldowns and spamming everything they have to stay alive hoping they get some damn help before they do get whittled down. Give me a break lol. Sorry you look at a healer and think free kill. Wrong mindset.
Is it though? BFA is widely regarded as one of the worst expacs for pvp ever. And it had demigod healers. You’d get a wsg with 5 healers of the other team and literally no one would die.
You obviously don’t play shaman lol. They have 1 defensive ability every 1.5 minutes. They also have mana, where paladins don’t need to use theirs because of WoG. An elemental and enhancement shaman can literally put out 4 heals before oom. If you continue pressure on them, they can’t sustain forever. Sounds like you’re simply getting out played and don’t like it.
BFA also had corruption and extremely low damage dps, not what we have now. Don’t compare the two, they are completely different and if you think it’s at all the same now, you might need to take the ragefolds off and think a little bit more on that.
