Healing Stream Totem (for enhance) is only healing for .8% of your health every 2 seconds, and that’s if it picks you as it’s target. The amount of healing given is negligible and I’m wondering if this is an oversight by the class designers or if it’s intended for the healing to be lower because of the added defensive talent now associated with it. In DF, healing Stream Totem was around 2% of your health every 2 seconds. Is anyone taking this talent or knows anything more about why it’s so low? Thank you!
I do wish that Healing Stream was equivalent to Mage’s Barrier spells in terms of effective healing over the course of a 2 or 5 minute fight. This feeling is especially poignant when I consider the GCDs action economy.
I honestly think they forgot to scale it to level 80, healing Stream Totem was getting crits for 80k at level 70 in DF.
it reduce fire frost and nature damage taken by 6% , so good to play it in PvP vs Frost Mage , Frost DK , Fire Mage , ELE/ENH shamans, but yes for the healing value of its a GCD lost.
Well one more thing to not take for now I guess. I will need to check of its good for ele
Its not, from my experience, any better for ele.
I will do some testing tonight on this … if that proves to be the case I suppose I’ll take earth shield instead
Examples for context, 4.6mil hp with 58k int and 19% haste, my healing stream is reporting doing 44k every 1.7 sec. So over the 15 seconds of life, it’ll do 388k healing. 25k hps or roughly 11% of this caster’s health is not a lot.
Right and that’s not a lot … also you have to remember that max uptime on HST is 75% with talents.
So take that 11% and reduce it to 8.25%
With earth shield you could raise that by 20%, plus whatever it adds from its own healing.
(From what I calculate it’s about 57k per activation with your stats)
Every “few seconds” which I think means 3?
We can probably make a decent enough comparative analog to rejuvenations’ spell power coefficient 98% vs 68%, so it’s scaling is pretty pathetic
I wouldn’t waste talent points on it. The healing is pathetic and in PvP it can be destroyed in one global. The follow up 6% elemental damage reduction is kind of nice but that’s a two talent point investment that is situationally useful and also unreliable depending on how many teammates are nearby. Those 2 talent points have a lot better options for spending.
I feel like it was a lot better in DF? And maybe the scaling from 70-80 broke … I feel like it should be healing like 2-3x more than it is …
The talent that buffed it by 80% is gone. They should have baked it in baseline. As is, it doesn’t feel worth the global + talent point cost.
Chain heal is also pathetically undertuned, at least for enhance. Healing surge was buffed to compensate for the larger health pools going into war within but chain heal and healing stream were left behind.
Chain heal is even more frustrating than healing stream because it’s a forced point spend for storm enhance builds that never press lava burst. At least healing stream can be skipped.
Comparing mage to shaman defensives is laughable. How on earth the devs can look at those 2 classes and think they have any balance in this game is beyond me.
