Healing right now feels horrible and insanely weak

I have changed into a potato

Yup … this every time, I know when a Prot Pally is doing the right thing because their HP bar isnt pretending to be a Blood DK.

When they mess up though either they go hero to zero or they get chunked 80% of their HP.

They are a glass cannon Tank this expack, massive DPS for a tank but their mitigation is garbage and they take huge damage if they mess up.

Then you have Warrior Tanks who for whatever reason dont actually need a healer and can solo most stuff on their own, amazing DPS with amazing mitigation and sustain …everything the Prot Pally isnt.

Blood DKs are scary to heal for if you dont know to ignore their HP bar and just watch their RP bar instead, 10% HP with 90% RP = all good, 90% Hp with 10% RP = soooooo dead.

Bears are fine, middle of the pack Tank with no amazing stuff but no bad stuff either, just a good all rounder that is easy to heal for.

Monks … this is the Tank that requires a good operator, you mess up just once and you’re dead, really needs a going over because from what I have seen as a healer no one really wants to play a monk tank.

Demon Hunter Tanks are almost as good as Warriors if the person driving knows the class, they can just keep on trucking till they mess up and they get chunked. They are nto hard to heal for either, easier to top off than monks and dont die as fast as Prot Paladins who mess up.

I’m in the process of leveling all the healers atm…Good time to do it. At low levels heals are still fun. That said Pally felt terrible in comparison to the others, haven’t rolled Evoker and probably wont…Not a fan of the dragon model.

It’s been a lot of fun, that said I’m likely going to hit a wall once I start pushing into endgame content and will go back to my hunter after a week or so of getting trash talked by DPS in dungeons.

I agree Holy Pally is bad till you start getting some of the kit needed to support big heals, I think it was around 40ish that it started to feel ok to heal with.

Well…Prot pal is dependent on getting a block. Depending what build you run, it’s typical to have 60% block chance up at all times. And Prot Pal can block everything. Some builds you can have 80-90% at all times

So because we can block everything, the spec is designed with that in mind. If a tank buster just happens to miss with no DR available, that is when a prot pal gets chunked for over half their HP or just dies. It basically amounts to being unlucky if you’re doing everything else right.

It’s also why Prot Pal has so many DRs.

/logs onto Holy Priest in TWW

/casts Holy Word: Serenity, holy’s big cooldown dopamine hitting heal… it only heals for 2% of tank’s health

Player: Wtf is this?

Healers have been completely busted and overtuned in WoW since TBC.

They are still waaaay stronger than DPS.

Just leveled holy priest and resto shammy 70-80 this week in Time Walking dungeons.

They were both in free-epics from Dragonflight so nothing crazy but thought it was more than enough for Time Walking.

Levels 70-76 seemed ok.

77-80 and I was healing my butt off and people’s health bars barely moved. In these later levels the tank was doing twice my healing output.
