Healing prep SL

Trying to level a healer to get ready for Shadowlands. What is expected to be the best well rounded healer for future content. I want to be able to do dungeons, raids, mythics… a bit of everything. Not master of one. I want it to be fun but I don’t want to be sweaty by the end of every fight either.

And what are your guesses or projected guess on best all around healers in shadowlands?

a prest have 2 heal , so it probly them , bc u probly gonna get at lest 1 good

Druid

10/char

druid is always going to be the most versatile healer

I haven’t paid much attention to healer rankings for SL. Druid is probably a safe bet. I’m having fun playing Hpriest, so that’s my pick.

From what I’ve seen over the years Priests and Druids tend to be the safe picks and sometimes they even dominate an aspect of an expansion.

If you’re going to do M+ then so far druid is measuring up to be the best choice. If you’re going the raid route, Shaman in raids has always been a strong choice.
With regards to druids, they’re the easiest healer class to learn and do well in majority of content.
But honestly, any healer class has a valuable toolkit (except, sadly, maybe monk) and any healer class should work in any scenario.

They should. Doesn’t mean they always do. I’ve seen lots of healers need mana after every fight and seen others never drink a whole instance. I’ve seen people start casting a heal and before they get it off someone has already topped them off.

Druid has been nerfed going into shadowlands.

Priest/Paladin/Monk will be good. Priest and monk if you wanna do raids/pvp/m+

wrong.

Just all wrong.

This is subjective and totally based on two factors: gear and if the person at the keyboard is utilizing their spells properly. And actually, maybe a third factor: if people in the group are watching what they’re standing in and not taking unnecessary damage.
Honestly, it’s a total case by case, isn’t it? Every situation and group combo makes it different. :woman_shrugging:

I didn’t see the latest builds I guess… Majority of people still seem to believe druid will top. Either way, I’ll look into what the deets are.

As of right now Disc is the “best” healer (for m+ and raiding they are phenomenal IF you play it well) as their healing consists of mitigating incoming damage. Druid will certainly be the best, or most desired, in m+, a few things give them the edge over disc in M+. Not just because of their healing, but for their cc, dps, and survivability. MW monks are doing well right now, and are projected to be one of the best, the aforementioned classes being better in some aspects. Shaman is an easy pick for raiding, and if you can pull it off, decent in m+. Personally monk lost my favorite cast, and probably favorite of a lot of monks, which was way of the crane. The replacement for it is good if you build on it specifically, but people smarter than me could tell you why you shouldn’t. I’m taking a monk into shadowlands, because I personally enjoy their kit and dual ways of healing. If you’re being casual and want to enjoy everything you do, pick a class you like the most.

Since when has shaman always been a good raid choice lmao

I just leveled a paladin healer in prepatch and it is incredibly fun and effective!

Since their toolkit is literally based for healing large groups, and now that they’ve received a couple new totems back (the mana one and another baseline healing totem) I thought they seemed like a solid choice. They did well in Legion if I recall, I legit had little raiding in BfA this time around tho.

Druid was top mostly due to mobility and damage.

Their damage has been gutted with the loss of azerite traits. That’s a big perk of the druid removed.

And hots are less interesting as a result. Hots allow you to heal while dpsing.

Also the standardising of m+ affixes provide a more consistent approach for all healers.

People say druid because they assume hots and dps are the be all and end all again but blizzard really has leveled the playing field around this.

And with m+ groups and aoe target caps being a thing this also impacts on the healing landscape.

Not to mention corruptions are gone…

That goes down to a player issue. It’s common knowledge that if you constantly use fast heals, you will OOM quicker. Faster heals use a much larger amount of mana. If healers are OOMing after each fight, they’re also probably under geared for that content.

Anything but holy paladin you’ll be fine

Whats wrong with hpal?

Druid seems to be the best healer in SL with the current information we know and people say they are very fun too… I for one picked the healing class I enjoy the most (Holy Pally) and while my overall heal numbers cant compare to a few other classes, I have wicked dmg mitigation and I enjoy the class.
