Healing Orbs

How do healing orbs spawn. Are they random or do they pop up after using a certain ability. There is times I'm in combat where I will get like 3 or 4 orbs expel harm and fully heal and there is times where only one freaking orb will spawn and ill just be sitting there like "healer... please help".

I'm assuming we are talking about the brew master ox orbs. It is indeed random every time you take damage, and they can also spawn from the boiling brew azerite trait.
One orb will spawn after you've taken a total of about 10% of your max hp. Doesn't have to be on a single hit.

You can have up to 5 orbs up at a time if a 6th spawns you automatically collect the oldest active orb.

The azerite trait creates chances for additional spawns but the active number stays at 5.

No. It's 1 orb per 100% of your max health in damage taken, before stagger.
The way ox orbs work. Is simply.

An orb spawns after you have taken 100% of your hp in dmg before am.

The internal counter does not reset our of combat. Which means that you can spawn an odd one the first hit of a boss if you are close to spawning one.

The reason you spawned so many so quick was most likely the boss was hitting you harder. The harder the hits the more orbs will spawn.
On another note, I really miss the Artifact Trait that guaranteed a healing orb spawn when you reached about 10% of your health.
Anyone remember mop brewmaster yellow orbs, now those was nice!

This is right, now in legion (at the end) it was random spawn. While at the start of legion it was based off of your missing health. So the lower health you were the more orbs you would spawn which is why a lot of the time you were never supposed to heal a brewmaster to full as a healer only 60% so they can spawn more orbs.
The correct answer is "They don't spawn enough" ;)

As much as I joke, seeing what my paladin can do for self heals (and what blood DK's can do), ya, they don't spawn enough lol

I really wish people would stop complaining about that. Different tanking. Brm smooth dmg and take less upfront. You shouldn't need the huge self heals that those tanks need because you aren't getting trucked like them and if you are. You are playing incorrectly.

While this is true in a party setting, when sololing we would need more healing sources. Making the orbs spawn more frequently (or better said with sets rules and pre-requisit) is going to be just fair. RNG is not accountable for skills.

Orbs are literally not rng. They spawn 100% of the time when you take dmg equal to 100% of your hp. It is in fact one of the least rng abilities in game.

Blizzard should have a resource counter for Brm to indicate how much dmg until the next one spawns.

The rules for an orb to spawn is rather simple.

An orb spawns every single time you take dmg = to 100% of your hp before am. Thd only issue is it doesn't reset our or combat. So it feels rng but it isn't.

Wrong.

An orb spawns after you take 100% of your HP before any mitigation. So it's assuming you have 0% armor/verse.

So if you have 100k HP and a boss hits you for 105k but then your 25% armor kicks in and your 80% stagger kicks in and your 5% verse kicks in, you'll only be hit for like 18k and the rest will be mitigated, but that will cause you to spawn an orb because the original hit is 105k which is over 100% of your HP.
