so i picked up some +healing gear and a +healing staff and my healing spells arent being increased AT ALL, i play as a shaman and im trying to figure out why my healing spells arent being effected by the +healing gear and +healing gear? even my healing spring totem remains the same output. is this just normal? if so, whats the point of having these pieces of gear in game if they dont work? i need help understanding
What level are you, what spell are you casting and rank, and how much +healing do you have? You really wont see much below level 20, also its not a 1 to 1 ratio on most spells.
oh, i thought it was 1 : 1, here i thought loading up on +healing would be better to cast low rank healing waves to increase mana efficiency. i guess ill just go back to normal “of the eagle” gear. i had 48+ healing at lvl 21, 13from staff, 15from gloves, and 20 from legs.
No each spell has a coefficient, its also based I think on a 3.5 sec cast time, so a 1.5 sec cast spell would get 50% before the coefficient.
At low levels when healing, your best bet is to stack int, and plan on using your max rank heals.
I think spells learned at level 20+ all have the same healing coefficient. However, what you’re running into is the relative improvement of +healing on lower level gear versus the base healing amount.
At low gear levels, the stat budgets are lower so you get very little +healing. As a result, you get very little improvement compared to the base healing amount. It’s just always going to be better to have more int and spirit so you have more mana to cast additional spells.
Additionally, the main benefit of +healing is to drastically improve the efficiency of lower rank spells. At low levels you dont have enough ranks where you can downrank efficiently with +healing gear. This is to prevent rank 1 spells from being hyper efficient because of their negligible mana cost and shorter cast times.
I’m sure there are much more detailed explanations out there, but it really boils down to int and spirit being far more valuable at lower levels. Only start looking at +healing when you get to the 40s.
+healing gear is trash until lvl 60 just get stat gear
Like other posters mentioned, it depends on the cast time of the heal, the rank of the heal, and your level, I think? You need to be casting the highest rank you have trained and over 2.5 sec cast to get the full benefit - I think. Not to mention most of the time in Classic the issue is mana, not actual healing output. Just spec int or spirit or mp5 depending on your class.
