Healing Margrave PF boss as holy

I’m having the worst time on this boss. Does anyone have any tips for healing this boss? I can keep people up during the first infectious rain but when she starts casting tentacles and everyone still has the dot, I cannot do anything but renew and shield and people die. =/ It’s so frustrating.

Just tried to do it as Disc. We literally couldn’t do it and gave up. Can’t dispel rain fast enough and it just hurts. Let alone watching for explosions and the tentacles.

If people die to tentacles it’s their fault.

When that mechanic goes off I only worry about doing the dance and keeping myself alive.

After that mechanic finishes I then start triaging again.

But in general I avoid PF on tyrranicAl weeks.

Well the fight is kinda a dps check too not only healing, if you have good dps they can phase the boss before it gets to put 4 stacks on everyone.
It is easier if you have a Monk/Paladin in your team to help clean the stacks.
Also if you have a mage they should use ice block to get rid of the 4 stacks.

Try to save Apotheosis for the part when Tentacles + Infection comes. You will use Serenity > Apoth > Serenity to top 2 people instantly and then try to use GS on someone who is going to die and then you only have to cast 3 heals/flash heals to get another Serenity and top the other guy.
Make sure you have Desperate prayer + Fade DR conduit and if you have Draven Venthyr you will have 10% DR passive at 40% health so you will get 20% DR with fade + prayer health increase.

Make sure you have some PoM on targets before this part goes on.

The hard part is the adds in these fights more than the tentacles and the infection. If they hit someone during this phase then that guy is dead.

With good dps this can be done quite fluid, with bad dps it is gonna be a nightmare and a wipe.

I see you run Light of the Naaru, while it’s not a bad talent I think it only works if you play in premade groups and they do really good dps, know how to do mechanics and use defensives, so they help with the healing. If you are pugging or your teammates don’t really care and they just tunnel then I recommend you go Apotheosis.

Thank you for all the advice, Amantha. Yes, I think I’ll take Apotheosis and possibly divine star as well just for this dungeon. I tried out LotN today because I am stacking it with holy oration and it actually is a pretty nice combination. If I am able to hardcast (which is most of the time not this fight tho), serenity comes up pretty fast (takes off about 10 seconds per heal cast iirc).

But this fight gives me such little time to sit and heal, except during the first phase of the fight. Once she starts putting the dot on everyone and we have to move constantly to avoid tentacles is when people start dying. I usually end up dying trying to heal myself.

But you are right, I think it has to do with dps being low. There were some runs, even when it was tyrannical, when it seemed smoother and it was probably because the fight was shorter. I’ll keep in mind to bring a paladin or monk if I run the key because I cannot dispel anything on that fight.

Yea Lotn + Holy oration is good, but I still think that is a good combination when you are not pugging. I mean I can’t make it work with puggers. Just remember Apoth resets cooldowns so first use ur holy words on cd and then pop the apotheosis for double holy word healing.

Resonant Words + FC lego just makes my heal crit for like 21-23k and that just tops a person in critical state. I’m running 25% crit for M+.

Also remember to stay close to boss so you can position yourself faster for tentacles, not having to run that much.
And Shining Force is a pretty strong talent to bring to this dungeon, it works great for slimes on first boss and it can really save lives for the skeletons in last boss.

Big Red usually skips the 1st phase
We do DPS uses CDs on 2nd phase
Third phase we bloodlust

I usually power infuse myself so I can push out more heals during that portion, sometimes hitting 8-9k HPS on that specific boss. Its a rough boss on boss week.

I’m assuming you’re Holy.

I healed this on a +15 PF Tyrannical and it was brutal. Absolutely brutal. It’s so much easier on Fortified because I did a +17 and it wasn’t even remotely as hard. It’s why I stay away from this and a few other dungeons on Tyrannical week.

You don’t want to waste your time dispelling the dot until she’s done channeling and you want to dispel whoevers health dips the lowest. You know when the rains coming if you have DBM so you want to try and pre-PoM and renew people if you can.

The first rain you should be able to heal with Sanctuary + heals. The second rain you want to divine hymn. Third one you can use Apotheosis if you have that talent, but otherwise go with #1. You usually get heroism on the second or third phase so it helps catching up.

If your dps is good you only have to deal with the rain three times on tyrannical and usually only once or twice on fortified.

The hardest part I have dealing with this fight is avoiding tentacles and healing people because if I have my eyes on the bars too much I’ll miss tentacles and get squashed.

Either way: this is probably one of the single hardest +15 and higher boss to heal through. Avoid on Tyrannical weeks if you can.

Tyrannical just sucks in general. There are so many bosses that just do bonkers damage that only shaman can comfortably deal with

Nobody likes Tyrannical and almost every person in my friends list was only pushing low keys this week. I thought it was comical the amount of 1800+ IO people in the +14 groups I was in. The collective sighs of tyrannical were common in the chats.

It literally takes the same amount of time to clear through the dungeons on fortified or tyrannical so forcing yourself to do hardmode bosses isn’t worth the hassles. Since people all have KSM they care less about pumping on hard weeks. We all know how to deal with the overtuned hardhitting trash and it’s fairly rare that you wipe on it.

Shackle a skeleton when the final phase is about to start, thats usually when skeletons start coming in and ruining everything, get shining force and knockback any others that make it in. Rotate cooldowns, pre pom and renew everyone before the rain. Try to get a necrolord to the dungeon and pull the slimes in the side corridor right before prideful then get their buff after prideful, it helps a lot (10% damage reduction, xx% haste, dmg proc).

PRAY that you don’t get the rotating tentacles during the last phase when rain is dropping… if that happens in a bad spot it’s almost always a disaster as that one usually makes you run the most unless you luck out with the positioning. The rotating one also seems to make people panic and mess up the most. People just die trying to run around during that with dots on them and skeletons walking in and smacking people as they run in a circle. I really think they should just remove the rotating tentacles at least in the last phase, would make the boss less of a RNG hellscape. I swear most the times I wipe on that boss it’s solely because of rotating tentacles in the last phase.

Another thing is lust, a lot of people use it on the 3rd boss because it’s also tough (or wipe once then decide to use lust on the 2nd try), so a lot of times youll be at the last pull with like 8~ minutes left or something in the key but lst on cd for 5 minutes or something. You only have time for 1 attempt because the fight is long and the runback is long, so in that situation try to convince your group to just cc/kite the last skeleton adds and wait not proc prideful/boss until lust is like 2~ minutes off CD so you can use it on the last phase where it helps a lot to just burn the boss. So many times I’ve had like 7+ minutes going into last boss but wiped on the last boss last phase with no lust because it’s still on cd, then we run back and kill it with lust but its deplete because we’re over by 1 or 2 minutes from wiping.
