So I typically play Feral and wanted to try Resto. Was surprised to see that Rejuvenation and Swiftmend heal for about 35% less with Resto. I made sure to equip the Resto weapon, am I missing something?
Are you referring to the Affinity or spec?
If youâre Feral using resto Affinity, you should be using an agility weapon.
If youâre swapping to resto spec, your gear will have a huge part to play in the numbers your seeing. Stats scale differently as well.
Without seeing logs, we will only be able to give you assumptions on the potential issue.
Sepc, not Affinity.
Maybe it has to do with my gear. I thought the primary stat changed over when you switched spec (other than the weapon). I am using the Resto weapon.
Feral resto affinity swiftmend is not scaled assuming that you have resto mastery, or around the idea that you are pumping out constant healing in addition to swiftmend.
Itâs meant to be an Oh**** CD that can only be used if you pop out of cat form. Itâs also meant to give you some small incentive to actually use resto affinity, because balance affinity is king and Bliz knows it. (Which means resto affinity really only gets used in PVP)
Pretty sure my balance affinity Swiftmend does more healing than resto too. It can save the day on a tank. I canât do much healing before I OOM though.
yeah most affinity spells arenât really balanced.
theyâre meant to be used in a very short window and then be pretty useless after that whether itâs running out of mana, running out of a damaged CD or running out of frenzied regeneration.
they want druids to feel like if they swap out and cast a heal or swap into a DPS spec that it can be useful but itâs not meant to be the core mechanic of their gameplay.
Agreed, which is why I am surprised Feral Rejuv/Swiftmend heal for significantly more than Resto.
That is just WoW new philosophy. Hybrid have better non-cd burst healing but low mana. Shadowpriest shadowmend heal more than disc priest shadowmend as well.
Nobody has actually explained why to you yet, so I will.
Read resto druids mastery. Itâs a % healing increase for your heals, and stacks depending on how many hots are on them.
25% mastery, with 4 hots, is +100%, or 2x as much healing.
Thatâs why the base spells are weaker.
Offspecs also only have mana for like 4 regrowths, then theyâre oom.
in dps specs you get a boost to the power of your heals but you can only cast a few before oom.
Between having more options for heals, resto mastery, and a much much larger mana pool resto does heal more just not if you put single spells side by side.
Yes, your healing spells hit harder when you are guardian/feral/balance versus when you are resto, same way your attacks hit harder when you are in resto spec versus an actual damage spec.
Same thing applies to paladins, shamans, priests etc.
They are that way to give the talent a benefit from taking. Your mana pool allows for like 4 or 5 casts without heart of the wild before you OOM. Hardly game breaking, but enough to offheal and be useful.
Whereas resto is built with mastery and constant casting in mind. Lower heals, but significantly more mana efficient and sustainable.
That said, Iâve seen our healer go down and saved the day with heart of the wild a bunch with resto affinity.
