Healing at low levels

Me and my friends decided to get back into wow and level together. There are 5 of us, and I have taken the role as the healer. I am currently playing a priest, but im worried that if i die (because i’m bad) the party would be out a healer. So i decided i would level a backup character just in case. But, im not sure if i should just level another priest, or go paladin.
My worry is paladin healers aren’t as good low level, and i dont want to handicap my party.
We plan on doing dungeons like the deadmines at some point.
Oh and for the rest of the party. We have a warlock, rogue, warrior, and a druid that does not plan on dipping into resto.

Im just wondering if anyone has any input!

Priest is superior. However, if your group is playing carefully, anything is fine as only the tank should be taking much in the way of damage.

Low level Paladin is ok if you have int gear.

It gets better at 20 once you get flash of light, and can downrank holy light. Tricky part is gauging incoming damage tk select the right heal.

I’d go down the holy tree for the first 10 levels regardless of what role you’re going for. The +10% int talent and the pushback protection talent are so good for survivability when leveling and also good for healing.

Good luck out there

Level another priest.
