Healers, y’all having any mana issues?

My resto shaman goes oom on Huntsman in Nathria around the last 20% every time. Even being as conservative as I can I was still going oom. I hear monk has mana problems too. I was curious if it’s an all around healing issue.

Huntsman is where I notice it most. It could be a combination of most the raid being under geared + new mechanics that are making it extra challenging to heal.

Yeah a little mana management is a little tougher now lol.

Especially when I tell the stupid tanks I need to stop and refill it and they don’t listen and run ahead and die :expressionless: they are to use to healers never needing to stop for mana.

That particular boss is notorious for draining mana on healers, your raid needs to take measures to avoid dmg has much has possible

Some tips:

Have the raid surround the Hunter, that way his Volt Cone attack will hit considerably less people, making easier on the healers.

During the first phase, if the person who is getting targeted by the Dog-bear thing which usually requires the raid to stack to mitigate the dmg, has an immunity, make him use that away from the group instead to avoid the dmg of the ambush entirely.

If you have a Warrior in your raid, save Rallying Cry for the third phase, if multiple, make them use it on a specific order.

Overall that boss requires your raid to reduce the amount of dmg you take, obviously getting better gear helps.

Never had issues with mana forever

The final gauntlet in Sanguine Depths is a fun test of mana management

I have had some issues with my Resto Shaman but after learning more of the fights it gets easier.

I’m fine(ish) in raids but in dungeons (esp 6+) I feel like I need to drink every few packs.

At least Huntsman is getting (got?) nerfed, that was a BRUTAL encounter for my poor mana pool.

Yes I am. Easy to blame healers, but DPS also has to be very aware of mechanics. We will be forced to burn through mana quick when dps/tanks aren’t doing their jobs.

A good group vs a mediocre one is like night and day when it comes to my mana. Not even comparable. If you’re having mana problems it’s a team issue, my team is having plenty of lrn2play issues right now so my mana is suffering needlessly

What’s frustrating is because I’m having to monitor my mana so much, my HPS suffers and when they look at charts they assume I’m doing poorly but I’m not sure it’s so cut and dry. I can always improve though for sure

I have been, but I mainly tank and only resto in raids so I’m 100% willing to admit its probably user error on my part. We’re progressing on the Council at the moment and most pulls even with 4-6 Innervates and 1-2 of the channeled mana potions, depending on fight length, I’m still brushing up against an empty mana bar through a good third of the fight.

Warriors don’t even use mana, so yeah that makes sense. Try healing Sun King and lmk how that goes for you chief.

lol…AND a longer potion CD .
Makes perfect blizzard sense. lol

Yes! And so have other healers in my guild. Lots of ooming and lots of needing to stop to drink after a lot of pulls that are just trash. It’s easier to manage mana during boss fights than trash pulls. I’ve oomed before last expansion during high stress moments but not like this, this is so frequent that it makes me wonder what I’m doing wrong because I’m not doing anything too different from last expansion.

Depends on the dps awareness to be honest. I’ve had groups where I’ve been able to dps 3/4 of the dungeon and keep full mana, then I’ve had a few where I’m stopping to drink after each pull cause someone doesn’t do mechanics , or tanks are just squish
