Pevoker HPS is amazing, I play it so I know but even while I do 3-4mil more healing then the other healer I still somehow can lose, which feels crazy. These other healers are putting out tons of damage I saw a disc pump out 3.4mil while I only got out 900k, then there is Rsham who can burst someone for almost 200k dmg, holy priest who have 3 immunities to death! After that Hpal… they could use some work. but Rdruid is by far the craziest heals out there bar and none!, they are a tier above evoker even, they have similar dmg to us they heal as much, they have 40 yard range ,more cc then pevokers and their hots are dramatically more then a Pevoker. MW, they are killable and if you train them they will just die. But they are in a pretty good spot and their healing feels strong unless they are being focused. With this said, I don’t feel like damp is the problem even. Its the insane burst, 100-10 back and forth all game. Burst has to be dropped no class should hit 100k dmg ever. You can kill without hitting 100k dmg, 80k sure thats fine. That is a great smack! but 100k+ is crazy and we are getting up close to 200k. It reminds me of BFA Destro Warlock where their chaos bolt would kill you in 2 hits, except its melee doing this as well, most casters can get close. Burst is just to high in pvp. No amount of being able to heal more will help as people are getting 100-0 with full hots even it doesnt matter. That is why healer isn’t fun we just delay the inevitable we can not shift the outcome of the match, unless there is a error made on our end.
Actually a perfect fix for bliz, buff HP pools and remove damp then we are sitting perfect, add an extra 150k to everyone and we are in the right ballpark.
prevoker can also do this but it takes an extra global.
One thing i learned the hard way is that if you play prevoker and arent abusing your high damage(at opportune times) and chrono loop or fire breath purge vs rdruid or getting alot of sleeps off in certain matchups and are just exclusively pve healing every global then your winrate especially in shuffle will be way way lower
^This. Sometimes, I check the scoreboard after a round and see I doubled/tripled the other healer, but still lost.
One thing that bugs me about Sleep Walk is that the target walks towards me (and usually the action), so the CC might get broken by AOE. They also end up closer to us, so they can immediately DPS or heal or CC. I wish Sleep Walk at least kept players in the same spot. Bonus points if they walk away from me.
Not a bad idea, maybe we’ll get some AI healers if enough quit.
The whole system right now is just extremely unfriendly to newer healers. As others’ have already said, all it takes is 1 split second mistake for a match to end. Personally, I think mistakes should sort of add up over the course of a match, where skilled play might be able to make up for past mistakes, but continuous mistakes will eventually become insurmountable.
Of course mistakes should be punished, but at the moment it’s just too unforgiving. And it’s especially frustrating when those mistakes come from your dps and there’s nothing you can do about them (and then the healer often gets blamed on top of it).
I think the fear of returning to long dampener matches (like BFA), has led to an unwillingness by blizzard and the playerbase to make proper changes. I’ve said it since S1 of shadowlands…there can be a middle ground between this insane “dead in .05 seconds” meta, and a dampener meta. Increasing health pools would be a good start.
Stick to classic dumbo.
Not more healers. Just enable double dps 2v2 solo shuffle so we can get fast Q’s and fair matches and see less healers, which Id personally enjoy because I dont think healers are designed fun or can be designed fun until the game loses 95% of its damage cds and nerfs healing appropriately and brings back a diversity of tools to deal with healers long term(Mana burn, rot, specialized burst classes that create and use windows to land kills, ms at 50% but only existing for warriors and rogues with rogues being a poison you can remove, ect).
