Healers - Blizzard Raid Frames Issue

Maybe another healer knows of this ‘glitch’… but for as long as I can remember, when i use the default raid frames for my group and go into an instance… start healing… at times some of the players/boxes are unclickable. Cannot target them at all and they just… cannot be healed by me. Can’t even click on the box. Nothing.

Strangest thing and curious if anyone else has this problem and what they did/do about it.

Figured I’d post here for higher traffic and eyes, hoping for a solution.

I’ve run into this a couple times back in legion when I was very novice at the game, I was using bartender for my UI at the time. I use elvui now which I find to be much better, yet it could be your addons are clashing with the blizzard base line UI. As I too have experienced this issue before, small indie company am I right? Yet I think when it happened rebooting the game solved it, although it hasn’t happened again to me since I’ve been using elvui.

Try a full UI reset. I don’t use default ones, but a good friend and another healer in my guild do and neither have ever reported any issues with not being able to click them. As Bolttington noted though, it’s very possible another addon is causing conflict.

It might be an addon thing… could be right. I don’t use any clique or vuhdo, etc so not sure… and DBM and details do not seem too invasive. Just wild, surprised I don’t hear about this more.

Just did a cursory search and it appears it’s a glitch that happens sometimes when someone joins or leaves the raid group. Maybe my buddies just never said anything about it because they’re used to it.

The solution seems to be a quick /reload when it happens, or getting a raid frame addon.

Appreciate it. Will see how it goes next time around, and will rest some things. Maybe it is time for a third-party frame. RIP.

I’m using elvui (I KNOW I SWORE I NEVER WOULD) and using their raid frames, it happens to me occasionally, and not in a group where people are leaving/joining.

this never happened before CN - and specifically denathrius - or at least, I never noticed it.

It’s happened at least once to our resto druid and resto shaman, but idk what raid frames they’re using.

I’ve never noticed this to be an issue, but I never click on any of the frames for healing since all of my heals are mouseover macros.

I see this fairly frequently and for me it’s due to add-on clashes. It happens pretty consistently with AngryKeystones which does OK with raid frames in a 5-man but absolutely fails on a raid-size team of 6-40. A simple reload fixes the issue if it glitches on a 5-man, but gotta disable it for 6-40 people.

I also occasionally get an error message that HandyNotes (and less frequently TomTom) are blocking a default UI function, like using a daily quest item in The Maw from the quest list icon rather than opening your bag and right-clicking the item there. Again a “/reload” fixes that when it happens.

These errors typically occur due to bugs in the add-on. In the case of Angry Keystones it’s only meant for Mythic-Plus Dungeons so the designer never accounted for: a) use of raid-frames in a 5-man (helpful to see debuffs); and b) suppressing itself if it detects more than a party of five so the user doesn’t have to disable it for raid (e.g., Castle Nathria or World Bosses). In the case of HandyNotes, I don’t see a conflict error notice unless I’ve been running for a long time which suggests some kind of memory leak or failure to release a resource handle (again a coding error).

Happens all of the time for me. When doing world bosses anyone who joins the raid after we have engaged in combat will be unclickable with mouseover macros for me until I do a /console reloadui.
