Guys, we need to stop being endless cynics around here, but the truth and reality of the current status quo, is that ARENA IS DYING and HEALING IS and NEVER WAS, fun for a majority of people. Few people, with huge balls, enjoy healing. always been that way, always will be. people saying to make “healing fun in PVP” are talking out of their asses. Healing is Healing, it’s just not as dopamine rewarding as a Pog KILL.
People need to accept that, that is reality.
Now if we accept that reality, we need to accept another. HEALING is WEIGHING DOWN the arena community, arena queue, and PVP. Healing the concept, it’s dragging us all down, till the game dies into oblivion. we’ve seen glimpses of this dead reality in shadowlands Season 3 and 4, dead queues, dead game, and it’s only going to get worse quick if we don’t cut off the cancer. Which is HEALING.
Look, I don’t hate the current format 2dps and 1 heals. In an ideal world, I wish it could be the case, we have the current format with tons of Queues, RSS poppin all the time, everyone happy. But it’s just not reality. I’m bringing up the elephant in the room, the hard discussion, our ship is sinking, and we need to kick someone of the boat (healers).
Get RID OF HEALING
2v2 RSS DPS
OR
3v3 DPS RATED TDM (5 minutes, whichever team gets most kills wins. Think of Lost Ark)

Your “solution” is literally that.
Who’s CDs are bigger.
That’s what you get without heals. No balance at all.

There needs to be balance for “ranked” (and I use that word extremely lightly for RSS) games.
fair enough. i get what your saying now. and i agree 100%. but i want people to be able to get in the game in the first place. we need queues.
get people in the games, get the queues going, blizz can work on balancing around it afterwards with data. my point is these 30 min queues are killing the game!

Every class has heal, dps, and CC that are all somewhat comparable. Kind of the opposite of what we have now.
ESO is fun but kind of a bit boring PvP wise for myself.
yeah, i get what you mean. hybrids could be op. i dont know the specifics, but there has to be a way. maybe give non-hybrids potions or something. i don’t know, but once we get in the game, we can figure it out and get pvp devs to work on it.
What balance is there in the game currently that wouldn’t apply to this format he brought up? In Ranked 3’s or RSS? They could use the same system as they use now for RSS, class based. Having a healer does not = auto-balance.
And again I ask, what is different from the current game state? Paladin allegedly had the bigger cd’s so had to be nerfed

Like I’m just talking on a basis of trying to get some games going, I just want to actually get in and not wait 30 min in between. Blizzard has shown this year so far, they are capable of nerfs/buffs quickly, every week,. they can easily balance the game for 2v2 rss dps and 3v3 dps tdm over time even. i dont even care if its FOTM/unbalanced, because I just want to PLAY some GAMEs!!
if we stick to the current system, its going to become NO GAMES FOR ANYONE!!
I agree 100% healing is currently the lifeblood of 3v3 pvp and 10v10 pvp. DPS classes have to SCAVENGE anything they can get just to cap, while healers get the pick of the litter.
Healers should be given gold, so the gold farmers in the playerbase can gravitate to pvp and speed up the shuffle queues for dpsers.
If I got paid gold I would heal more guaranteed.

Can you explain to me how it is not balanced? You realize that by admitting certain specs are better than others it translates across all game modes.
Well… given the current state of the game (player population) that is not saying much. You can also just do a simple “Healing ruins PvP” and see how many people also agree with me. Just saying people lean in both directions.

Classes that take longer to deal damage are at a significant disadvantage compared to burst classes. Higher burst will win. You’ll also be at massive disadvantage facing certain burst comps. Heal at least gives a better chance of surviving.
The whole round over because one player is down is absurd.
Inb4 you assume that you can just negate a burst.
We’re talking avg pvper here. 1400 max players.

This is where you missed everything. We are talking about a TDM, you get killed in an opener? Who cares. Just go back out and fight again with all your CD’s when they don’t have any left.

They’re pretty much the exact same.
No, 3vs3 TDM in an Arena, timed ~5 minutes or more if that’s better highest score wins.
