Healers are There to Heal, Not to Fix Avoidable Mistakes

In 19th Ruby Life Pools, during Melidrussa, one of DPS did not leave the Chillstorm away from the group which caused a decent spike of damage. As a result, the healer had to use their CD to save the group. First phase of whelplings went just fine and right after that the AOE pool was left in the group once again, and in addition to that the tank was pushed into one of the icy spikes. Time and again, healer had to use their CDs to save the group which led to a lack of strong abilities to outheal the group from Frost Overload (burn phase).

The healer got blamed in not being able to handle the high key and was kicked from the group.

People, please - treat your healers with some amount of respect as they do not have authority of tanks and also, understand that they are there to heal through unavoidable mechanics, but not to fix your mistakes. Yet, we all make mistakes, and most healers are happy to be there for you.

I <3 our healers and will punch anyone who disrespects them.

Thats the nature of a pug group , maybe the healer couldn’t keep up with the overall partywide damage.

Doesn’t matter where you drop the storm the damage is the same regardless of distance.

Whispers to OP: “TY for the heal.”

slowly moonwalks away

oh no, a healer had to heal in a dungeon?

Call the president. This atrocity must be sent to the united nations.

I will coddle my healers. On my Pally I save the bubble just for them. It is theirs.

Now get in my pocket and keep the HoT’s flowing

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think Chillstorm does the same damage to all players no matter where it is. It simply does more damage if you are inside of it.

The pull effect can be annoying if it’s badly placed, but I don’t think it actually does more damage.

Edit: also, it’s a good idea to assign people’s defensive CDs to one of the Chillstorms. That way the healer can manage their cooldowns better.

POTUS doesn’t preside over the UN. Your solution is an atrocity. May god have mercy on your blackened soul

You’re right. Ima take this straight to nafta. they’ll get it sorted out.

The pool was left in melee, so more than one person ended up on the edge of the aoe middle pool for a few seconds before the burst.

This detail isn’t the message of this topic. I only deliver to people that often healers get blamed for no actual reasons.

I was only able to get KSM but carrying morons who tunnel vision mobs. Without a guild or static I’m not even going to try for Hero. I’d say at about 16/17 heal carry stops being possible. Yeah, it sucks. I just had to set my own goals accounting for the fact.

Yes, my Queen. Lead us to battle.

I keep forgetting that there are some truly awful people in this game. Thank you for the reminder.

i agree. its awful that healers think they dont have to heal and any mistakes anyone else makes should be punished with death.

What is awful is anyone in any role thinking there will be any accountability in a Pug group. Now if it’s 3 or more players in a group group pugging into someone’s key or pugging someone into their key there is accountability. But for a pure 5 people never talked to before nor played darts with in their whole lives…yeah its gonna be bad like that.

I thought healers were complaining about being asked to DPS during downtime. Well, this is the result of needing 100% healing throughput.

Snipe aside, the group as a whole needs to be ready to change tactics if they’re not using their defensives and handling mechanics.

You don’t have to like it, but yes you are expected to heal mistakes as well… NO player is perfect so to expect to do anything less is just silly.

Obviously if there is a player that is just standing in everything then yea they’re bad but you should still be doing what you can to keep them up if you choose to finish the run. Then you just don’t run dungeons with that player anymore.

sock it to me, sock it to me, sock it to me, sock it to me.

Fair point. Healers make mistakes too.
