I was doing a 18 waycrest and I found myself being oom a lot, pretty much every boss fight. I know priests get oom a lot more than other healers but I’m trying to figure out what went wrong. I did an insane amount of healing imo, pulling 116k many times. We didn’t finish the 4th boss but overall I did 60k healing, the tank was at 23k and was a monk. For most boss fights/ tyrannical week a lot of dmg goes out, especially on highish keys.
And the dps was especially low, having 2 unholy dks pull 50-60k dps overall. Of course dps could have been taking avoidable damage often, but really I’m just trying to figure out what went wrong.
Thoughts?
Fighting against that healing debuff on the sisters fight is rough and will drain your mana pretty quick, I’ve noticed.

I went oom every fight though 
I’d suggest using the addon EH (Elitism Helper), despite its name, it actually shows you how much avoidable damage each party member took. I tend to go oom when the avoidable damage taken is higher.

just make sure if you say something to the dps about how much damage they took, they aren’t friends with the tank.
If you have two uh dk only doing 60k overall in a 18 then they simply arent very good. Prolly got hit by every mechanic and didnt use defensives the whole dungeon,
I watch like Ellesmere stream every day (number 1 healer on raider.io. All you need to know is he does plus 28s and stuff).
Even he cant keep people alive in plus 20 pugs. The difficulty of being a healer depends sooooo much on your teammates. It can either be incredibly hard or incredibly easy.
People have gotten away with doing plus 20s without healers. If you play perfectly (ofc it depends on the dungeon) almost no dmg is going out (Hence why healers are starting to do insane dps, part of the reason hpals became meta).
This. Less healing required in a 28 than a pug 20ish

The measure of a healer is so dependant on the group that it’s really hard to tell in a pug. That’s not to say we shouldn’t analyse ourselves or critique ourselves but getting a good measure of how we are doing is only really doable in a consistent group Imo.

As a healer I parse high HPS in bad pugs. I barely heal in good groups.

I have this problem on my Shaman as well. I rarely have Mana issues on my Holy Paladin of Resto Druid though.
Just feels like when pugs start eating big bites of avaoidsble damage, I am able to more easily keep everyone topped on my H Pally w/o much fuss.
Granted I’m not doing as high of keys as you are yet, a lot of the concepts still apply.

I actually re did this waycrest with a better group. Was rarely oom and 2 chested it
