Healer Priests Deserve an Interrupt - It Feels Outdated Without One

I’ve noticed that Priest seems to be the only healer without an interrupt, and honestly, it feels a bit outdated compared to other classes. Even if it’s just the “silence” interrupt specific to Shadow Priests, it would be a welcome addition. In a game where most classes/ healers have some form of interrupt, leaving Priests without one makes them feel less modern and versatile. Im kinda tired having my life in the hands of DPS, hoping I do not get double targeted.

Yep. Not even the only healers. The only specs. In the whole game. And they’re both in the same class. It’s absurd.

It made some sense for awhile, because healers having interrupts was hit or miss depending on when you looked.

But now?

Everyone but them has an interrupt. Just give them one.

And while we’re at it, let Demo Locks interrupt without having to put away their spec-specific pet. Same way Hunters don’t need to have a specific pet out to cast their version of Heroism now.

(Resto Druid interrupt is also awkward. It’s there. It’s available. But it’s awkward and I’d be down for it being swapped for the Boomkin interrupt instead).

Would be interesting to see all Priests share Shadow’s Silence.

Don’t know how it would interact in PvP, M+, Raiding, etc.

lmao.

Disc being as powerful as it is now and also getting an interrupt? LOL. Maybe: Trade PI for interrupt

Or no interrupt, but reverse the CC change. When Chastise was 90% the same thing it made hpriest worth considering bringing. Now it’s a dead spec.

I do not like having to run into melee to scream at folks, or put roots on them.

And shadow deserves not to have to use spec tree talent points on theirs.

Maybe hero specs should share some skills between the 2 specs that can take it, like resto druids that are keeper of the grove share some skills with balance. Not talking about skills that are iconic to the spec, just those that would help fill in some gaps in utility.

Formost, if not all, others it is in the class tree.

Ok you can have an interrupt, but disc’s shielding is nerfed to the ground so they don’t nullify mechanics entirely.

Chastise should just interrupt ontop of its current effect. Boom priests have an interrupt but its not the one that also has insane shielding.

You’re bringing up two aspects of a class which don’t have anything to do with one another because you think there’s some kind of point there. Priest being the only healer in the game without an interrupt when every other spec in the game has one has no bearing on the throughput of the spec, much the same with any other healer. A monk’s healing throughput is not balanced because they have spear-hand strike. A resto shaman’s throughput is not nerfed because they have windshear.

Having an interrupt wouldn’t nullify mechanics, and discipline does not have shields because the spec was designed without an interrupt in mind. These are two separate issues.

Honestly Demo’s pet should have Pummel in addition to Axe Toss. He’s a warrior, no reason he can’t do both

Plus having our kick tied to the stun isn’t helpful. For example on the last boss in Theater of Pain, when the caster adds spawn, interrupting one to get them to stack doesn’t work as demo because you just stun them in place for 5 sec and they go right back to casting. We can’t force casters to move if they’re vulnerable to stuns. It sucks

I would in a heartbeat. Chastise is a stun but it even with the talent for a shorter cooldown it doesn’t work like an interrupt does. I am glad I am done with needing my healer for this season

I’m 100% in favor of all priests getting a minimum of a 30 second cd silence as baseline.

But then you’d be expected to use interrupts
Then you’d have to come to the forums to complain thats not your job. That your job is strictly to heal. Not interrupt

Is there anyone in the game anymore aside from Holy/Disc that doesn’t have an interrupt of some kind? Can’t think of one.

The need for interrupts overall is just too prevalent so yes Priests not having one is very outdated.

Yeah, Demo and Rest Druid are just barely better than not having one. Given Blizz’s over-reliance on interrupts they really should just standardize interrupts and make sure everyone spec has one baseline.

I’ll take resto druid interrupt over Moonkin or Pres.

This is my highest evoker, can’t say for them. :joy: The moonkin one is at least useful when it is off cd. But yeah, they should just standardize them all.

Nah, like it is an edge to shaman has been for so long.
