I am leveling as a Resto Druid healer, why can’t my 2 dps damaging abilities hit harder? Even if I swap to feral, it seems like I do no damage. I want to play a Healer and live the Healer lore, but this game makes you level as a dps or tank then swap to healer later for group content. WHY?
Other MMO’s the Healers dps abilities hit just as hard as the dps, they just have fewer abilities.
Why do tanks get to so both while leveling though?
Bears hitting harder then feral and boomy right now and has infinite healing that scales up the more mobs you pull
They obviously shouldn’t either, it’s a failure on Blizzards behalf if any tanks are outdpsing DPS. But I’m pretty sure tanks can’t heal other people like a healer.
Obviously. They’re healers, and they have a DPS spec they can freely switch to.
“Waaaah, I want it all, I shouldn’t have to change specs. I want to do max DPS while healing like a pro”.
Your argument falls short when tanks exist in the current state.
Healer is the only role where players are expected to keep up with a second role just to exist outside of instances.
And yet they do. Just check this whole forum and reddit. Every post made by a new player asking for advice on leveling up is answered by someone saying “just swap to dps”, therefore you’re expected to learn one spec to level up, and a new one to do instances as the role you want to play.
Not to mention that every healer but shaman had their interrupt removed and we still have mobs spam casting bolts in world content.
It’s disingenous of you to deny it, but I’m not surprised at all that a troll will troll in these forums. Moved to the ignored list, since I’ve ran out of troll churus today. Have a nice day.
Big dog. I’ve been playing the whole time, I main specs are healing on every class that can heal. I have never once leveled as a healer. Not even as a discipline priest. I always switched to Shadow.
It just makes sense. I would never expect a healer to be able to sit there and do all the same quests that I do, they usually take a vow of peace and healing. Doesn’t mean that they can’t enact violence and that they can’t defend themselves, but their main priority isn’t damaging things. It’s healing. So it makes sense that they don’t do as much damage. So it also makes perfect sense to switch to a DPS or tank spec.
I don’t know anybody who’s ever actually trying to level as a healer. That just sounds like an unnecessary challenge mode. It’s doable, very easily doable but it’s going to take you all a lot longer. If you want to be a healer, play as a DPS for questing and then just queue as a healer. Sometimes your dungeon is fast and you get to go and do two or three dungeons in a row, and then you get to come back and go to your quest and stay as a DPS. A win-win.
It’s just people that want it all - they want all of the benefits of being a healer but none of the drawbacks.
When they’re told “no, DPSing is for DPS classes” they go full Karen mode and demand to speak to the manager because they are ENTITLED to DPS like a DPS while healing like a healer.
Surprised we haven’t seen more “i’m a healer, why can’t I tank”. threads.
You proved my point exactly. You don’t main a healer, you main a dps. You actually leveled through an expansion as a DPS because it is impossisble or would take years to level as a healer.
if your restro is Mastery heavy, your damage will be trash. all that stat does nothing for restro damage (less i missed a recent patch note somewhere)
you generally need haste Verse and Crit. 0 mastery.
to be a good healer, you’ll want some mastery but we are talking damage.
then you want Dps trinkets and talents that help do damage. Cat damage is prob more reliable than casting.
but if damage and leveling speed was the goal, Guardian is usually the best option.
if the goal is the healer lore, there is a que for dungeon button. spam those. lore wise. a healer is a support not bringer of death and most quests what help hitting things until they stop moving.
