Healer easiness?

Hey all

I’m getting back into healing for TWW. I’m going with my old fav and most used healer in legion which is holy Priest. I was kind of thinking about having my warband just filled out with healers since its the 1 role i have enjoyed completely.

I was kinda getting some some opinions on which ones might be easier to pick up and relearn since i have played all healers including preservation but seeing what might be considered the easy 4 for the time being i also do prefer the reactive side of healing but am open to proactive side as well.

I’ve played a lot of healers and monk seems to fit the bill for what you want. The abilities are impactful, and straightforward. There isn’t a lot of playing around the spec. You just do what the buttons say they do and you have bailout buttons should things go south.

Preservation Evoker might have fewer buttons, but the spec plays in a more convoluted manner and has a harder time reacting.

The church always needs more faithful to collect the tithes.

Resto Shaman and Holy Priest.

After that it gets into personal variables like whether you find it difficult to operate in melee range or not or whether you stress about your dps while healing.

My time playing prevoker i did learn its playstyle is very almost sparatic to say the least

I think holy priest is probably the easiest all around. Shaman is easy to learn but can get a bit hard as you move up in keys.

I find my shaman easier to heal with than any other class.

Second would probably be my Druid.

Those 2 were gonna be my most likelys since they seem to be lumped together for easy to learn and use healers

Run from Priest. Now.

It is going to be the least wanted healer in game based on power and utility.

Even with the new patch?

We are shaman, we have adapted to getting nerfed. So yes, even with new patch we are still good.

My advice would be to look at healer difficulty as a package and not get too bogged down in specifics. And when considering what is “easy”, don’t evaluate that based on what is “easy” for someone else, you have to go with what is easier for YOU.

For me, Resto Druid was the easiest because of the high mobility, having a large percentage of my heals coming from instant-cast spells, as well as the general concept of HoT-based healing simply being something that really resonated with me.

I do believe that Holy Priest is “easier” from a purely mechanical standpoint, but in practice, having such a large percentage of your toolkit consist of spells with a cast-time combined with poor mobility resulted in it just not “feeling good”.

If you’ve already played all of the healers, surely you have some idea of which one seemed to be a better fit for you. Even if a certain healer is generally regarded as being slightly more complicated or difficult, if it really clicks for you, then it could actually be the easiest healer for you to play. Forcing yourself to do something that doesn’t feel natural isn’t “easy”.

Druid was probs in my line up but wasnt sure quit yet

I have a question about healers that maybe you all can answer…

I have been gone from the game since really Shadowlands and just coming back. I used to play only heals (dps offspec) and thought about rejoining for War Within.

After some reading/research, I’ve kind of gotten the idea that all healers are expected to dps and heal as well or is something I’m not reading correctly?

I get interrupts, decurse, reduce damage, mitigate or cure things but it is the dps part I’m not quite gotten my head around.

Anyone can give some thoughtful responses/thoughts on this, I’d appreciate it.

Holy Priests are the ultimate rot healers. Echo of Light is god tier.

However they are extremely reliant on serenity for strong ST and burst healing.

lot of different viewpoints, sometimes the easiest healer is the strongest healer, or maybe its the healer that just feels best to you, or with the fewest rotation buttons or CDs.

Personally I think resto shaman is both straightforward and very strong strong at the moment.

I feel like holy priest is the most straight forward healer.

Pretty easy to pickup and go.
