m+ is the best innovation they’ve had.
I still like healing, it’s just fun for me.
I do get annoyed watching people fail in keys over a +3 to the simplest of mechanics. And I’ll admit to imperfection, when people start floundering, it makes me flounder half the time trying to keep them from dying.
These are the people that think they should be skipping right up to +15s, when really they need some +2-5 practice first.
*edit: and no, I’m not doing 15s, because I’m lazy, probably still learning a few of the dungeons, and terrified of what the pugging looks like up there. Maybe next week. Or the week after. Maybe
Which is kind of sad when you think about it.
As a fellow healer, I feel your pain. I also decided to go dps. Seems like the best decision at the moment!
Heard a idea where we get rid of mythic plus and just have normal heroic and mythic but make mythic next to impossible. I kinda like the idea
Healing just isn’t fun this expansion. Too many dots that kill people in 2 GCDs, too many swirlies that interrupt casting, too many boss abilities that kill anyone who isn’t full hp, too many affixes that the community pins on the healer…
Tanks and DPS see huge gains in power each season while Healers see their healing nerfed. And their damage is almost non-existent compared to the other roles.
The target demographic for this game is people who are willing to spam mythic+ like two full-time jobs. Sorry for the confusion.
People dont wanna do mechanics and blame the healer but like people dont wanna do keys w/o a healer so they can make us carry their mistakes.
EXCEPT the people cool enough to do the mechanics and realize 90% of the damage is avoidable and they can in fact do keys without a healer.
Just be pickier with who you invite. Also never ever run M+ without a shadow priest in your key this season. Good ones do like 30k-60k hps on the hard bosses and make your job as a healer much easier. Just because you are the healer does not mean you are the only one who heals. If you run any high key with 3 hunters for example, it’s over before it even starts.
I would run 100% of my groups without a healer if I could and I like my healer. You can’t get over the fact though that healing is an inherently worthless role that both lowers your potential group DPS AND gives DPS the soft impression that they are more free to make mistakes which also lowers group DPS when they take a dirt nap from their mistakes.
There is a reason why raiders first and foremost look to cut a healer as soon as possible either to speed raid fights up or make DPS checks. You aren’t going to heal the boss to death…in fact even in past bosses where healing the boss was a mechanic, you STILL had DPS components. I’ve been in minimal to no healer runs plenty and even all tank runs…but NEVER only healer runs.
The reality is people, once you go high enough, DO want to do mechanics and are generally competent at it which is why healing tends to get easier the higher up the key you get until you start reaching tippy top key levels…where then you can maybe cheese it by still running 4 DPS with the busted prot pally. It’s also why you start seeing people start demanding healers step up and do mechanics like explosives and/or pump DPS because they aren’t doing much otherwise and the DPS GCD’s are far more valuable in actually doing damage.
The issue with M+ loot is the gigantic loot pools and the fact you aren’t able to effectively trade gear amongst yourselves.
Let’s take the Rainsong mentioned here. It’s ONLY lootable by healers so that right there means only you are looting it. Vortex has a horrendously overbloated loot table for some stupid reason since they decided to shove all the jewelry in that one dungeon so have fun looting necks.
Let’s assume there are 9 items on the loot table for you (I’m not checking, but with 3 necks and I believe 3 rings it wouldn’t surprise me). You have to win the 2/5 to get loot in the first place. Now you have to win the 1/9 it is a Rainsong. That’s a 4.4% droprate. That is pitifully low.
Let’s compare that to the Forgotten Experiments trinket. You have 4 rolls in a 20 man group on 12 pieces of gear. 29% that item is dropping. Now we can go and argue that you are competing with other people on the item at this point, but it would take you competing with SEVEN people to come out at equal odds.
You’re literally a crybaby. I stopped reading when you demanded guaranteed loot at the end of each m+ dungeon.
Guess how many runs it took me to get a decent 200 ilvl two hander in pre patch lmfao
You can run another key endlessly. Our keys get locked. We don’t even get m+ which is literally free raid loot.
Yeah this is very accurate, M+ is in general very rewarding in terms of the overall amount of loot you can get but targeting a specific piece can be a pain…
I agree on the loot tables issue, particularly what you mention about VP is something I noticed too (since I was also trying to farm for Rainsong)… That dungeon has 3 necks, 3 backs and 2 rings, all 8 of those items will show-up in the loot table for every spec. For my Holy Paladin the chances were (2/5)*(1/12) = 3.33%.
But since I needed to farm crests and fill vault anyways running VP just made sense since it very good loot for me besides the Trinket so I kind of spammed it for a while. Naturally I didn’t get the trinket until the next week where I wasn’t farming anymore and just ran it once for vault.
Now, so you could think I wasted so much time farming for a trinket, but not really, in the process I got pretty much full sets of great 441 gear for both Prot and Holy all with the right stats for each (for both Raid and M+), and my ring, belt and helm all with socket. (Ofc I didn’t only run VP some of the gear came from other dungeons too).
Inb4 OP finds out they’re just as bad at dps as they are healing
People like this guy and his bad takes need to go somewhere else.
I really don’t understand the constant posts I’m seeing here and other sites of healers complaining about how they’re tired of being chewed out in M+. As a healer who does high keys in M+, it’s not happening to me.
Is healing challenging this expansion? Of course. Yes, they could tune some things.
Why do people keep complaining about Zskarn? I’ve only done him on LFR and with guild, he wasn’t much of an issue. Our guild struggled a bit, but after a few wipes we got him down. Why? Because before, people were doing things like standing in fire and eating bombs when they weren’t supposed to.
I do not believe that I should be given free loot just because I’m playing a healer. They’ve already done this in PVP and you get people treating healers like crap because “they get an insta queue and bonus loot”.
I’m going to say skill issue.
there’s something seriously wrong with trinket drop rates. they were always low but i’m at 40+ VP runs on my shaman and i’ve yet to see it drop.
Wow…
This was really long…and boring. A TL;DR at the top of such long-winded posts is customary, always.
Incorp if your dps/tank aren’t helping out that’s on them. But afflicted - you DO know you have enough time to dispel both within the cast? your cd for decurse/dispel/cleanse is 6 seconds, and the cast is 10 seconds long.
did you know you can also get stuff that’s not on the listed loot tables? From VP i saw a vers/crit neck drop - which isn’t on the m+ loot table, but IS on the heroic and lower dungeon loot table.
