Healer Difficulty Ranked

How would you rank the healers in The War Within from most to least difficult, and why?

I want to know the opinions of forum dwellers.

Be sure to specify which type of content you’re referring to (Mythic+, raiding, PvP, etc.), since difficulty varies depending on the context.

I’ll post the results in this thread if it reaches enough responses.

It’s hard to rank them without having played them all. In TWW m+ i’ve really only played the resto specs, shaman and druid but I don’t see them being too dissimilar in difficulty…they are just very different. With shaman you have to plan your CD’s carefully and be much more deliberate with your globals whereas with druid you just slap hots on everyone and spam regrowth…a suboptimal global as a druid isn’t the end of the world since you have so much haste. It’s a lot of globals to press as a druid and you have to prepare several seconds before the damage event, but that is really only relevant when you are very unfamiliar with the content. As a shaman if you get caught during a healing check without having any CD’s to press it’s very scary, but as a druid you can always blast healing.

One factor that makes druid a little harder is that interrupting lunges you to the target if you aren’t in range. Most of the time it doesn’t make a difference, but there are plenty of situations where you can die or you may choose not to interrupt because you aren’t sure. If a harpoon is being cast in a sea of name plates and bombs it’s not always clear if it’s safe to kick…or maybe a waterbolt being cast on the edge of a swirly about to go off…even the top druids kill themselves this way. I’ve seen Seraphine and JB skull bash suicide on multiple occasions.

Like I said, I can’t compare them to other healers but I would put the resto specs as similar in difficulty and on the easier side since you don’t have to be in melee to heal. I personally find resto druid to be slightly easier than resto shaman.

I’ve played them all at varying levels, though druid more than the others. Right now, I think druid is the hardest–it’s high APM and there are lots to track. Often described as a more advanced healer. But personally, because I’m so used to it, I find Evoker harder to play well

My friend is developing carpal tunnel from playing monk over the years.

I’ve played all but evoker. Straight mythic+, I don’t believe in raid. I think disc is very obtuse to play. Druid was very annoying because of the high apm. Just always pressing something. Shaman and holy priest are very easy. Paladin is imo the easiest. Monk is somewhere maybe just below druid

content: delves, w-bosses, general nonsense

jeez i was just about to make a list when i realized for the content i do, nothing is difficult because you don’t need to be an expert to be effective. i might spoil your poll, OP, so feel free to disregard. :X

i guess mist might be difficult since there are a lot of interactions between spells you have to consider (like an ability affecting another ability). prevoker maybe next most difficult? effective but somewhat off-putting… i don’t know why.

Well I play holy in M+ and raid
I play Fistwever in M+
Shaman I play in M+ and raid

I stopped trying to heal on a pally
I can’t stand druid play right now… Not a big fan of HoTs
I don’t understand how people play Disc
Evokers… Over all good but Just didn’t play really in TWW as I mained mine last Xpac.

Evoker in m+ and raid. Usually in the 3000-3200 io range and aotc for raid with the random first few mythic bosses. I personally love it and have no issue with it, but it feels like it really depends on the group messing up as little as possible

I play holy priest in raid and find it easier than my resto Druid in raid to stay on top.

In m plus I’ve tried to get away from resto Druid but I keep coming back to it. Just so many great options and utility.

I used to multi class when I had a lot more free time. Could never get deep into holy paladin or shaman despite trying multiple times over the years and leveling many including using 2 boosts on shamans.

Mistweave is fun but I miss essence font lol.

I want to like prez but I like transmog.

My personal opinion… from what I’ve played in PVP.

Fistweaver > Holy Pal > Druid > Disc priest > Holy Priest > Evoker > Regular Monk > Shaman (i suck with all the totem stuff, too many buttons imo)
